Arkansas became the 25th state on June 15, 1836. Its capital and largest city is Little Rock. Major industries include mining, farming, forestry, and manufacturing. The state is known for being a top producer of rice in the US and having the only active diamond mine. Popular tourist attractions include Crater of Diamonds State Park and Hot Springs National Park.
