Position title: Research Associate I/II/III
Summary: Solves complex problems in a creative and effective way. Identifies technical
problems independently and troubleshoots them accordingly; conducts formulation and process
development; supports the bio-analytical team; executes and documents the study; and analyzes,
summarizes, and presents data/results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Plans and executes formulation research and development activities such as excipients
screening, solid state characterization, stability testing, and processing
• Identifies technical problems and formulates a study plan/protocol to address the
problems
• Executes study protocols to support formulation development activities for a wide variety
of compounds ranging from small molecules to live vaccines
• Develops, executes, and troubleshoots methods for characterizing the solid state
properties and stability of samples processed by spray drying, freeze drying, and/or other
methods
Requirements:
Education/Experience/Skills:
Education:
• BS degree in Chemical Engineering/Pharmaceutical Sciences/Bioengineering/Chemistry
or a related discipline with 0-4 years of industry experience; or
• MS degree in related discipline and 0-2 years of industry experience; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience:
• Hands-on laboratory experience and strong analytical problem solving capability
• Familiarity with analytical instruments, such as DSC, TGA, HPLC, is a plus

Job description:
We are seeking an entry-level Ph.D. chemist with a strong background in synthetic
organic chemistry to participate in the discovery of new antibacterial drugs. Candidates
should have experience in the design & synthesis of complex organic molecules
coupled with a solid knowledge of modern separation methodologies and spectroscopic
identification techniques. Knowledge of metal complexation with organic molecules
would be a plus.
The candidate should demonstrate the ability to plan, prioritize and execute experiments
in an efficient and time-effective manner. He/She must be able to work independently
and in a team environment. Individuals require strong written and verbal communication
skills, good problem solving abilities and an ability to work effectively with a diverse
team of co-workers.
Requirements:
• PhD in Organic Chemistry or similar with organic synthesis skills.
• Experienced in the design & synthesis of complex organic molecules using modern
synthetic methodologies.
• Solid knowledge of modern separation methods (MPLC, HPLC) and spectroscopic
