Bears are mammals of the family Ursidae. Bears are classified as caniforms, or doglike carnivorans, with the pinnipeds being their closest living relatives. Although only eight species of bears are extant, they are widespread, appearing in a wide variety of habitats throughout theNorthern Hemisphere and partially in the Southern Hemisphere. Bears are found on the continents of North America, South America,Europe, and Asia.
Common characteristics of modern bears include large bodies with stocky legs, long snouts, shaggy hair, plantigrade paws with five nonretractile claws, and short tails. While the polar bear is mostly carnivorous, and the giant panda feeds almost entirely on bamboo, the remaining six species are omnivorous with varied diets.

Snow Leopard

Snow leopards face threats of poaching, habitat loss, and conflict with local communities over prey and livestock. Conservation groups like the Snow Leopard Foundation work to protect snow leopard populations and their habitats in places like Pakistan.

Taiga
Animals in the taiga have adapted to survive the harsh winters and food shortages. Some animals hibernate, some migrate south, and others cooperate with the difficult environment. Kit Fox
The kit fox is a small mammal that lives in desert and forest areas of western North America. It has yellowish or gray fur that helps it blend into its surroundings. It digs underground dens with multiple entrances and catches small mammals, birds, and insects at night using its keen senses of smell and hearing. Kit foxes typically have 4-5 young each year and can live up to 8 years. Their scientific name is Vulpes Macrotis and they are known for their large ears, which allow them to hear sounds from far away.

Behavioral characteristics of wild cat

Females give birth to litters of 1-7 kittens after a 2 month gestation period. Wildcats face threats from larger predators and habitat loss.

- 2. They are brown, white, and gray. The tip of their ears stay dark. The adult is mostly two feet long and weighs about twelve pounds.
- 3. It eats leaves, bark, twigs, and roots of the willow tree. They eat grasses and flowers, buds, and berries. It is a herbivore.
- 4. They live in Alaska, northern Canada, Europe, Newfoundland, and the North pole and some even live in Greenland. They live in frigid tundras and rocky areas. They dig a burrow.
- 5. Babies are called leverets. Moms can have nine, but they mostly have 5-6. The mother will stay with the leverets for a few days.
- 6. It camouflages white. It also confuses predators. It scatters in different directions and hops like a kangaroo to escape.
- 7. Predators are hungry wolves, or arctic foxes, polar bears, ermines and large birds.
- 8. Their top speed is 64 km/hr. Females are larger than males. They are fleet-footed to escape on the tundra. They are the largest hares. They don’t take short hops.
- 9. My name is Lisa, I love to draw, and play badminton. I also love to perform ballet. My favorite pokemon is Eevee. I chose the arctic hare because it was cute.
