AMU OVERVIEW
ABOUT AMU Arbaminch University, is officially inaugurated in June 2004. During this time it comprised four faculties, one institute and one school. These are water technology institute Engineering Faculty Applied science Faculty Business and Economics Faculty The school of post graduate .
CONTINUE…… The Progenitor of the present Arba Minch University was the former Arba Minch Water Technology Institute (AWTI), which was established in 1986 with the objective of producing trained professonals in the field of water resources  At present, the university runs both undergraduate and post graduate programs, and enrolls about 10,000 students (2008/09 academic year) in the regular and continuing education (evening, weekend and summer) programs
LOCATION OF AMU Arbaminch University is one of the universities found in the Southern Nations, Nationalities and Peoples Region (SNNPR). It is located at Arba Minch town, 500 km south of Addis Ababa in the vicinity of unique natural and anthropogenic diversity  Average temp 30°c , annual rainfall 575mm, situated in great rift vally AMU naturally enjoy presence of Abaya and Chamo lakes, 40 springs and netch sar national park just few Km from AMU

Mission of Arbaminch University  Arbaminch University has a mission of promoting democratic thinking, offering high quality education and training, conducting demand driven and problem solving research and consultancy, and rendering community service in order to contribute to the development endeavors of the country.
Admission to Arbaminch University  Undergraduate Admission   Regular program   The Ministry of Education (MOE) determines the admission of regular students into the various degree and diploma programmes of Arba Minch University . The admission to newly introduced one –year less programmes is normally based on the results of Ethiopian Higher Education Entrance Certificate Examination (EHEECE) plus transcripts of the preparatory programme, and the Ethiopian School Leaving Certificate Examination (ESLCE) and other recognized external examinations.  Continuing education program (Evening, Weekend and Kiremt(summer)  Admission at Advanced Standing Level  Graduate Admission
Cooperation and assistance  and partnership Arbaminch University has been executing a number of projects geared at addressing the socio-economic problems of the community. It is now engaged in those services in a more comprehensive manner with the expansion of programs and fields of study.  Major  Cooperation and assistance   GTZ (German Technical co-operation)   -Technical assistance/ offering scholarships and visiting professors/  -Equipment (for laboratories & workshops)  -assisting appropriate research & twining with German technical universities.  Development Innovative Fund (DIF) ( financial assistance to strength laboratories)-world bank ROSA  project ( Netherlands ) Partnerships  (Germany) University of Siegen   Technical University of Dresden   Free University of Berlin   Adis Ababa University( Ethiopia) Assisting staff-development (providing teaching staff on block basis agreement).
2, EXPECTATION FROM TRAING Gain knowlegde on how to produce Audivisual teaching material knowledge on some softwares which are usefull for producing AV teaching materials Concept and benefit of e-learning ,its  material production and managment Skills to operate and manage audiovisual teaching material (multimedia) production equipments
individual project I wish to produce and manage teaching material which includes vidio, Audio and text (multimedia) on one of Electrical Engineering subject.
