mourning ceremony is held in honor of Hazrat Abbas (Imam
Hussein's brother).
Ashura :It is the tenth lunar month of Muharram when Imam
Hussein and Hazrat Abbas (Hazrat Abolfazl) and his companions
and family are martyred and a mourning ceremony is held in
honor of Imam Hussain.
3. Before Testimony
The oppressive army surrounded the enemy of Imam Hussein and
his army.The enemy army did not even allow Imam Hussein and
his companions access to water, and also left all women and
children thirsty.
4. Imam Hussein and his
companions, even when they were
at war with the enemy corps, began
to pray during the noon prayer
with arrows that were cowardly
fired from the enemy corps even
thogh they were thirsty .
5. At this time, Hazrat Abolfazl (Imam Hussein's brother),
who was a very brave and courageous person, could not
bear the thirst of children. For this reason, despite the fact
that the lake was surrounded by the enemy corps, he went
there to fetch water, but the enemy corps mercilessly threw
arrows at him and at first his hand was cut off And his
other hand was injured, but he took the musk with his
mouth, but the oppressive enemy fired again at him and he
could no longer walk.
6. Hazrat Abolfazl was martyred by the oppressive army
even though he himself had not even drank a sip of
water .

infant son of Imam Hussein (Hazrat Ali
Asghar) and tore his throat with an
arrow and he was martyred.
8. Imam Hussein fought bravely against the oppressive army
and was martyred, and the ruthless enemy army beheaded
him and speared him. You can see their shrine in the next
picture, which is located in Iraq and the city of Karbala.

10. On the night of Ashura, many
people light candles in certain
places in memory of Imam
Hussein and the captives and
children who survived the
Karbala incident.
11. Some people perform a play called
Taziyeh, which narrates from the
beginning of the Karbala incident
to the martyrdom of Imam
Hussein and his companions, as
well as the captivity of children and
women. Many people come to see
it and it is completely free.
12. People cry when they see this play
in memory of Imam Hussein and
Hazrat Abolfazl and their family
and friends.
13. Some people these days donate their
blood to the needy in memory of their
martyrdom. You can see an example

14. The fortieth day after the
martyrdom of Imam Hussein
is called Arbaeen. Many
people have been walking to
Karbala since a few days ago
so that they can visit Imam
Hussein and Hazrat Abolfazl
on the fortieth day.
15. Some people walk this route
and some travel there by car,
but they all have a destination;
Karbala.
16. Some people stand along this path and
give water to the pilgrims in memory
of the thirst of Imam Hussein and
Hazrat Abolfazl and their companions.
