APRICUS PLUMBER APP
USER EXPERIENCE/INTERFACE DESIGN
THE BRIEF.
Lower warranty related calls, provide a
one stop shop for manuals and install
videos where material can be updated
regularly to standard guidelines.
THE SOLUTION.
The solution came after interviewing
installers, staff and surveying customers
that the root of the problem is the
installation. The installers of the system
are not regularly trained. Due to remote
locations to some of the installers, they
are not regularly trained
or have an updated version of the
manual.
Apricus Plumber app is the solution with
regular updates to manuals and videos
of each step of the installation.
Most users need to be able to access the information with one hand. The navigation was
proposed to be on the right - to accomodate one hand use. But was later change to the
left as most of the users will be carrying or using the right hand. The left navigation is more
suited as it is current convention and familiarity of app usage.
REASEARCH TAKE AWAYS.
We took the time to process the research
and interview data and found out some
important take aways for the usabilty of
the app.
- Must be easy to use and navigation
favouring the thumb for access.
- Must pre download the information
whilst in wifi as much as possible.
- Manuals need to be easy to read,
- Users would prefer following a video
whilst on the job site.
