What is Cloud Computing
Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of IT resources—including servers, storage, databases,
and software—over the internet with pay-as-you-go pricing. Instead of buying and maintaining physical
data centers, users rent access to these services from providers like AWS ,Microsoft Azure, and
Google cloud
Different Types cloud
1. IaaS(Infrastructure as service)
2. SaaS(Software as Service)
3. PaaS(Platform as service)
Importance of Cloud in education
● Accessibility and Flexibility: Cloud platforms allow students to access coursework, digital textbooks,
and submit assignments from any location, supporting remote and asynchronous learning.
● Cost Reduction and Efficiency: Institutions can move away from maintaining expensive on-site IT
infrastructure. Similarly, students save money by not needing high-end hardware to run applications.
● Collaboration and Engagement: Cloud technology enables real-time, interactive collaboration between
students and teachers, such as shared documents and virtual classrooms.
● Data Security and Storage: Sensitive student data, attendance, and records are securely stored and
backed up, reducing the risk of data loss due to hardware failures.
● Scalability: Educational institutions can easily manage data for large, fluctuating user bases without
needing new, physical hardware.
● Modernized Learning Materials: Digital content on the cloud is always up to date, eliminating the need
for old, outdated, or heavy textbooks.
