The aftermath of demonetization has been painful for everyone especially the
working class, merchants, small establishments , banks, RBI, farmers, rural
friends, people with and without bank accounts and even the Govt.
There is no doubt that this decision has been taken with all good intentions and
there are positive results of getting the floating cash into the banking system, big
impact to black money hoarders and the biggest thing is to make India as much
as cashless- Not necessary NO cash. The PM’s masterstroke has been
appreciated by everyone , I do not belong to any political party however what is
good is good so everyone should come together and think of how PM’s vision can
be actually implemented , he is PM of India and all our PM’s have been our pride.
I do not want to comment on the turmoil which is happening – agreed the
implementation was not successful but then you cannot blame the PM for it
because he does not run the machinery , he trusts the officers who run it and any
radical decision is going to be bitter but look at it from a positive angle and there
emerges many opportunities. I fully agree with the disagreements, the pains of
common man but with protests no one is going to win so let us think how it can be
easy for all of us.

Now main question is how can the people at the bottom of the layer, middle class,
smaller merchants transact with each other when getting notes has become so
excruciating, even if RBI goes full swing replenishing ATM’s with cash is going to
be a long overhaul. Seeing a 100 Re note going to the driver, maids, milkman,
grocery has now become a tragedy event as if a piece of heart goes out everytime
you pay 50 rs, 100 rs in this times.
I am not a Economist however I am a technologist, I am a Sales person and I like
to ideate and above all I am an optimist with lots of hope. I think we have a
solution which will cater to every other class and all of us will live happily ever
after!! No standing in queues, no internet, no apps.. No notes, very very easy to
use– BTW African countries have been most digital than a super economy like
India, their digital cash transactions are more than any developed nation- SIMPLY
because there was a huge problem there-Few ATMS’, Banks which were located
very far and of course the internal troubles
This is only an idea and many of you may disagree but I am just putting in my 2
cents since I am seeing the middleclass, lower middleclass and of course the
underprivileged frustrated with having no option than embracing new digital
methods of cash transaction, most don’t have bank accounts and even if some
have , they don’t have smartphones, cannot afford internet(Sir DATA is costly) and
learning curve to operate Mobile apps is so complex

First let me again put in points on the current digital initiatives available

Use Wallets- Paytm, Mobikwik,Payzapp, SBI Buddy, Batua Freecharge,
OLAmoney, Ideamoney… many others but issue is it all works on smartphones,
you have to fill it with cash from your bank or credit card so bank/credit card is
needed. Paytm has come up with a crappy solution for people with Feature
phones, I mean old phones –they can call a call center number and do
transactions—a waste of telecom and most of the times most of our lower/middle
class old citizens do not know how to make callcenter calls.
NEFT,RTGS,IMPS—Everyone knows about it, bank account is needed ofcourse
UPI-Unified Payment Interface apps, you can download and do transactions
between any banks, good system and far better than Wallet systems. It is
presently the best solution but again there is need to download apps, do
registration and bank account link is still needed.
Debit/Credit Card- age old system in place.
New systems like SERV’D has come up for lower middleclass and Bottom of
layer friends but then they have to register a contract…. Longish process but still
a good system.
Use *99# , type bank name, enter beneficiary MMID, You need to get MMID from
the recipient and enter amount– Of Course You need BANK Account

Solution #1
Transfer balance Interoperability
Use Existing Framework- This means use the existing mobile network system,
use mobile currency as real currency, see today the talktime you have is actually
money in your system because you have paid for it.
So let us take a scenario where you have to transfer talktime to your friend or your
near ones when they have lower charge and there is no way to recharge—I mean
you have a basic phone and there are no refill stations—all Telecom providers
provide facility to transfer talktime balance like in Vodafone it is *131*amt*mobile
number#
But you can only do transfers with the users of the same network which means
only with Vodafone users and there is limit to it like you can transfer from 5-30 rs
and there are charges applicable too.
We know that Govt has implemented Mobile Number portability which means I
can transfer my number to any network without any hassle so why not have
Transfer balance interoperability- sure it can be done if GOVT/TRAI wishes to
do it.
9. True Digital Banega Bharath
Once the Mobile balance transfer interoperability is implemented then all I
have to do is to transfer my mobile balance to my driver’s number or maid’s
number or my grocers number- just do USSD command, it will ask mobile
number, press 1 to confirm, it will again show mobile number again press to
confirm, put in your pin, put in amount to transfer, press confirm and the
amount is transferred. Your driver goes to buy vegetables or medicines or milk,
he will use the USSD command and transfer balance to the milkman--- Today
mobile phone is all pervasive and this solution will work on all phones , all
feature phones—NO internet needed just the regular USSD command and
SMS.
Increase the Balance Transfer limits to like 1000 Rs.
Talktime becomes the new cash, you can also goto your bank and transfer
mobile currency to your bank account. YES THIS CAN BE DONE—all it
requires is GOVT order, TRAI and RBI and just educate people.
Every Indian will be happy because they have cash on their mobile as talktime
The solution can also keep Talktime and Transfer balance currency as
separate if needed.
Telecom operators gain, Govt gains, fully digital, no notes and all my
countrymen and even foreigners are happy
Every balance transfer is recorded SO NO WORRIES about BM!!

Totally New solution-
PAYPOINTS.COM
If the first one is difficult to implement and runs into Corporate and Political
bottlenecks- although first solution should be easy just like how our PM
announced demonetization just in a day.
a) Design & Develop a Currency Point system, a web/mobile apps system which
generates POINTS for every user/consumer, POINTS become the new
currency and I am not here talking about BITCOIN which is far more complex
and yes it has its place.
b) Every user logs into the PAYPOINTs system and system can generate lets us
say 4000 points for each user- free no charge which means each user gets
4000 POINTS every month(Balance carried forward+New generated points),
POINTS translate to actual currency so let us say 2 point would mean 50
paise, 4 means 1 re so 20 POINTS means 4 rs, 400 POINTS means 100
Rs….. so on
c) All you need is a mobile phone and yes any mobile phone including the
feature/old phones and it works on SMS so again no internet…
d) So now you have 1000 Rs in your mobile but you cannot transfer it to your
bank(So for now it is just points- plain POINTS)
e) However you can now transfer POINTS to whoever you want, your labourers,
maids, drivers, grocers, friends, utilities….. anyone who has a mobile number-
of course you can transfer it using USSD command with a Pin for security.

Totally New solution-
PAYPOINTS.COM
f. The POINTS which you receive from someone can only be transferred to your
bank- Your POINTPAY ledger knows what you have got from others so your
bank will check the received POINTS and deposit it in your bank account as
currency which you can later take out from any ATM/bank if needed but I don’t
think you will need any cash any more.
g. When you transfer POINTS to someone – the POINTSPAY system will deduct
2 Points per transaction which is like 50 ps- again an example so that
POINTSPAY SYSTEM also can earn some revenue just like when you use
NEFT or UPI or RTGS or IMPS..
h. When your points go down you can recharge using netbanking, debit card,
credit card, paytm wallet or by paying cash if you manage to get some or even
by borrowing points on loan from others like your friends. BTW it also gets
recorded in your ledger.
i. You can also recharge POINTS by taking a loan from the POINTS system
upto 500 POINTS initially if you are taking loan for the first time and it gets
recorded as a LOAN which is automatically then deducted from your ledger
after 3 months(example) from your balance POINTS.
j. Recharging of POINTS can be max upto 40,000 POINTS for regular
consumers and upto 80,000 for Premium consumers.
k. You can only transfer received points from others or recharged points to your
bank
l. LOAN POINTS cannot be transferred to bank account.

India will have 1 billion unique subscribers by 2020(we
have already crossed 1bn mobile subscriber mark) so
cashless can become a reality, now for people who
cannot have mobile phones Govt should give it free
and for people who cannot operate mobile phones
cash facility can be provided so the really needy
population will get cash and cash printing can be
significantly reduced—so just use 1/4th of 20,000
crores we incur on notes printing and use the rest for
welfare activities.
I am sure we have lots of intelligent people to take it
forward now, any TAKERS PLEASE.
