Introduction
According to WHO in 2008, an estimated 347 million
people in the world had diabetes and the prevalence
is growing, particularly in low and middle income
countries. India had 16.2 million people living with
diabetes as per 2015 data.1
Objectives
1. To assess the diabetes self care activities and QOL
among diabetics.
2. To determine effectiveness of self efficacy
intervention on self care activities and QOL of
diabetics.
Result
Among 35 subjects 63%belongs to the age group 36 to 55
years. Most ofthe (54%)subjects were females.
60% were diagnosed with diabetes for more than two
years.
43% ofthem had a family history of diabetes.
Self care activities have been improved from pretest to
posttest, which has been assessed by using median and
IQR.
QOL has been improved from pretest to posttest, which
has been assessed by using frequency and percentage.

Conclusion
The study has been concluded
as self efficacy intervention
was effective in improving self

Methods and Materials
Study design: One group pre-test post test
Study population: Diabetics for last 3 years
Sampling method: Purposive sampling
Study tool: Demographic proforma, self-care activity scale
and WHO QOL BREF scale.
Data analysis: Mean, Median, SD, IQR, Frequency,
Percentage, Wilcoxon sign rank and Paired “t “test.
Discussion
Self-efficacy is the base for self-
care activities and quality of life.
