Anthropology is the study of humans, past and present. It is divided into four subdivisions: sociocultural anthropology which studies human culture and society; biological/physical anthropology which studies human evolution and biology; archaeological anthropology which studies human history and cultures through excavation of material remains; and linguistic anthropology which studies human language and communication.
