The student finds it fascinating that while humans are all created the same, cultural differences exist in how people live. Anthropology provides valuable knowledge about various societies around the world and how they have changed over time or maintained traditions. The student believes Americans can learn from other cultures that are less focused on material goods and take more pride in life and hard work.

1) Two girls arrive at the playground and immediately begin playing together, running to the swings and writing their names in the sand, which leads to a sand fight.
2) The girls then agree to slide down the slide together but fall face first into a muddy puddle at the bottom. Surprisingly, they begin laughing instead of crying.
3) The girls are then surrounded by ducks at the pond but their fathers scare the ducks away by feeding them bread. The girls sit with their feet in the pond, standing to run and sing their ABCs with innocence and joy.
Self rhetorical analysis
1) The author analyzes the article "My Husband was Kidnapped" about a woman named Kira whose husband was kidnapped in Mexico. Kira received threats demanding money for his return and was told the police couldn't be notified or her husband would be killed.
2) The author relates to Kira's situation as a wife and mother who couldn't imagine her own husband being kidnapped. She analyzes the psychological toll the kidnapping took on Kira and her family.

Anthropology
Anthropology is the scientific study of humans, human behavior, and cultures. It is divided into four main subfields: physical/biological anthropology which studies human evolution and biology; archaeology which studies past human cultures through material remains; cultural anthropology which studies cultural variation; and linguistic anthropology which studies human language and communication. Key figures in the development of anthropology included Charles Darwin, who formulated the theory of evolution, and Edward Tylor who established cultural anthropology. Later, Franz Boas introduced cultural relativism, challenging beliefs of Western cultural superiority. Margaret Mead studied gender roles and their cultural influences. Structuralism and symbolic anthropology also emerged as important approaches in anthropology.

The Subject Matter of Anthropology
Anthropology is the study of what it is to be human in the past and present, the things about people that are the same, and the things about them that are different. Anthropologists try to understand and describe the way in which humans think and behave and why we think and behave as we do. They help us recognize that much of what we think and do has been learned from the cultural worlds we walk in and that others do not necessarily experience or understand the world in the same way we do.
To understand humanity, anthropologists must study all of humanity, not just the most familiar or convenient human populations. Anthropology is cross-cultural. It seeks to understand how life is lived, experienced, and interpreted in different settings and at different times. It also seeks to understand how different people's unique histories and positions in larger contexts, such as the global economy, shape their lives. By studying people in their own contexts, anthropologists guard against conclusions that may be true for some, but not all. Anthropologists resist assumptions that any particular behavior, idea, or way of being is "natural" unless they are sure that no others do it, think about it, experience it, or interpret it differently. They challenge ethnocentrism wherever and whenever they find it.
Think about it:
Ideas about where infants should sleep can reflect notions of the "ideal" person a society is trying to develop. Many Americans, for example, highly value independence, individualism, and personal space and think, therefore, that infants "must" learn to sleep in their own cribs, often in their own rooms. People from other traditions, however, may find this practice cruel. Where do you think infants should sleep? Why? What does your opinion say about your values and traditions?

Cultural anthropology examines the role of music and dance in culture. These art forms reflect cultural values and social organization. For example, the BaMbuti people of Africa value their molimo instrument, while high school marching bands in the US spend hours practicing music and dance routines that receive little respect from other students despite reflecting American cultural traditions. Cultural anthropology seeks to understand the meaning and social functions of artistic expressions across societies.

In this research, it concludes that while the readiness of teachers in Caloocan City to implement the MATATAG Curriculum is generally positive, targeted efforts in professional development, resource distribution, support networks, and comprehensive preparation can address the existing gaps and ensure successful curriculum implementation.

This class has been an interesting study, influencing me to research my cultural roots. Anthropology is the study of all different human cultures and their walks of life. I find anthropology truly amazing beyond any explanation. The most fascinating part of this study is how our creator made all human beings the same but different. Anthropology is a great contribution to our society, providing knowledge about human beings around the world. I learned anthropology is very complex and has many levels of human life. I see how our society is in constant change with new technology and certain trends, while other societies live with such grace and dedication through centuries of ancestor y. It is evident that we as Americans are “spoiled” and pride on materialistic objects. I believe we as Americans has taken life for granted; once you educate yourself and see how other cultures pride on life and work hard. I definitely learned how many cultures work twice as hard for their possessions beside us. To me, anthropology is life, history, and awareness people. I am enlightened by what I have learned and continue to learn. Without anthropology we would be completely blinded on other human ways.<br />
