The SCI boys golf team played their first game of the season with a total team score of 242. Congratulations to cross country runners Lillias and Kaitlyn who had a fantastic first race. A reminder that the first meeting for Halloween Haunt will be next Tuesday at 11am. The first tryout for intermediate boys volleyball is Monday September 23rd at 7:30am. The first meeting for the Spartan Improv Club is next Tuesday at lunch. Upcoming college and university visits are listed.

My last birthday party
My last birthday party was on January 4th where my friends and grandparents came to celebrate. We ate grilled pork and fish along with salads and other dishes, drank juice, tea and coffee, listened to music, and I blew out candles on a big cake that my grandfather bought. We all had a good time at the party.

My family celebrates Easter with traditional foods and activities. Some family members fast before Easter and my grandmother collects onion peels all year to dye eggs red. On Easter there is a party with fish, red wine, rice and dyed eggs. We play egg fights and have an egg hunt with a chocolate prize. My grandfather brings candles from church. In Italy, Easter is also celebrated with church services, parades featuring costumes and statues of Jesus, and a communal feast of lamb and bread while wearing green and white. Italians seem to really enjoy celebrating Easter.

Today is Hawaiian day and Yoshi Sushi day at ICPS. There are no birthdays today or in July except for Theron on May 24th and Trinity in JK on July 23rd. The green team is assisting at the recycling depot. Several students from ICPS will be competing in regional track and field meets on June 10th after qualifying at a recent zone meet. Last call for Jump Rope for Heart envelopes and yearbook orders is being announced. Kassie, Johnathan, and JB are being recognized for character traits of cooperation, respect, and responsibility.

The Clearview Youth Centre is looking for youth aged 14-18 to join their advisory committee. Various universities and colleges will be visiting the school over the next few weeks for information sessions.

advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
