Annie Leibovitz is an American photographer born in 1949 in Waterbury, Connecticut. She studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute where she developed her photography skills. Leibovitz is known for portraits of celebrities, athletes, and other notable figures, including photos of Lance Armstrong emphasizing his muscles, Whoopi Goldberg surrounded by a white bath to emphasize her race, and Leonardo DiCaprio holding a swan gently to portray him as delicate.
