Unit Testing your React / Redux app (@BucharestJS)Alin Pandichi
React and Redux took the world by storm. These JavaScript libraries allow you to write applications consisting of reusable components while avoiding bugs related to side-effects. But I suspect that developers do not unit test their React/Redux code. Or at least not as much as they could. During this talk, I will showcase the unit tests we have written for our eventriX product. These tests run fast and cover the most important aspects of our client-side code running in the browser. These practical real-world examples could inspire you to write more and better unit tests for your own React/Redux application.
We recently decided to rework our test strategy. We moved from a fairly classic node test strategy containing unit and integration tests. We are now working to have a new intermediate layer of testing.
The slides demonstrate how to work successfully with OSGi and discuss alternative architectures namely micro-services. Please like if you find the slides useful.

TOPIC DESCRIPTION
In this talk we are going to meet a powerful tool – Gradle plugins – and explore what kinds of problems they can solve in Test Automation. These could be additional quality gates for an automation framework build, or automatic code generation of SUT API endpoints and entities that could be used in tests, or other areas depending on your needs. We will create a couple of plugins right there during the talk and discuss their benefits and drawbacks when compared to other options. By the end, you are going to have one more tool in your Test Automation toolset, and be better prepared for solving different kinds of automation problems in your current and future projects.
Chrome Extensions are fun to build and very powerful, thanks to the expansive API Google provides. This talk will explore techniques for structuring and testing your extension projects, using tools such as Grunt, Browserify and Venus.js. A quick refresher of major extension development concepts will be also be reviewed.

OVERVIEW
AngularJS is an open-source JavaScript framework, maintained by Google, that simplifies development of single-page applications. This session will provide an overview of AngularJS framework and demonstrate test-driven development of single-page applications.
In this session Andy will present a walkthrough of Angular’s core features such as dependency injector and directives. He will showcase a test-driven development of AngularJS applications using Jasmine and explain Angular’s data bindings that allow for creation of views and controllers that update automatically in response to data changes. He will also demo Angular’s deep linking and front-end validations and present integration with Ruby On Rails back end using AngularJS AJAX abstractions. Finally, Andy will utilize AngularJS directives and components to create reusable UI elements.
In summary, AngularJS is a great framework for creating complex single-page applications. Attendees will leave the talk with a solid understanding of Angular’s test-driven development process.
With examples of controllers, services and data binding, this presentation shows what's new and what's different in Angular 2.

Play with Testing on Android - Gilang Ramadhan (Academy Content Writer at Dic...DicodingEvent
- Mengapa perlu melakukan testing
- Apa sebenarnya yang dimaksud testing
- Apa saja tools yang bisa Anda manfaatkan

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
