The document discusses AST (Abstract Syntax Tree) transformations in Groovy, which allow modifying code structure at compile time. It covers the standard AST transformations included in Groovy, how to build local and global AST transformations, and additional tools for working with ASTs. The speaker is an experienced Java and Groovy developer who is a Groovy committer and project lead for the Griffon framework.
Groovy's AST Transformation is a compile time meta-programming technique and allows developer to hook into compilation process and add new fields or methods, or modify existing methods.

Groovy is a dynamic language that provides different types of metaprogramming techniques. In this talk we’ll mainly see runtime metaprogramming. You’ll understand the Groovy Meta-Object-Protocol (MOP), the metaclass, how to intercept method calls, how to deal with method missing and property missing, the use of mixins, traits and categories. All of these topics will be explained with examples in order to understand them. Also, you’ll see a little bit about compile-time metaprogramming with AST Transformations. AST Transformations provide a wonderful way of manipulating code at compile time via modifications of the Abstract Syntax Tree. You’ll see a basic but powerful example of what we can do with AST transformations.

How hard can it be testing your iOS apps? Is TDD a utopian scenario for you yet? That might be because of the architecture that you are using. During this talk, I explain how using the SOLID principles and a good architecture can help you to do real Test Driven Development. But don't worry, this talk is not only about theory, I point out some real examples of common problems when testing your apps and explain how the Clean Architecture and Swift come to the rescue in those scenarios.

Free The Enterprise With Ruby & Master Your Own DomainKen Collins
On the heals of Luis Lavena's RailsConf talk "Infiltrating Ruby Onto The Enterprise Death Star Using Guerilla Tactics" comes a local and frank talk about the current state of Open Source Software (OSS) participation from Windows developers. Learn what OSS is, what motivates its contributors, and how OSS can make you a stronger developer. Be prepared to fall in love with writing software again!
We will start off with a 101 introduction to both the Ruby programming language and the Ruby on Rails web application framework. You will learn about ActiveRecord, a powerful ORM that maps rich objects to your databases, and the latest components to use it with SQL Server. As a Rails core contributor and author of the SQL Server stack, I will give you a modern insight into both that will allow you to leverage your legacy data with Ruby.
Lastly, I will review the bleeding edge tools being actively created for Windows developers to ease the transition to Ruby, Rails and OSS from a POSIX driven world. Many things have changed. It is time to learn and perform some occupational maintenance.
Kicking off with Zend Expressive and Doctrine ORM (Sunshine PHP 2017)James Titcumb
You've heard of Zend's new framework, Expressive, and you've heard it's the new hotness. In this talk, I will introduce the concepts of Expressive, how to bootstrap a simple application with the framework using best practices, and finally how to integrate a third party tool like Doctrine ORM.
At this talk we will start from the basics and come shortly to DynamicProxies, generated type-save DynamicObjectAdapterBuilder and more. We will have a deep dive to this pattern group , and I am sure you will like it ;-)
This talk is based on the german book "Dynamic Proxies" written from Dr. Heinz Kabutz and me.

Top Reasons Why Java Rocks (report preview) - http:0t.ee/java-rocksZeroTurnaround
In this report we take a look at the top 10 reasons Java is the choice for so many development teams, all around the world, and why you should consider it for your next project. One of the main qualities Java possesses since the early design days is its simplicity. In that spirit we laid out in plain simple terms why Java outperforms other languages when it comes to popularity, performance, its amazing ecosystem and community.
For the less technical, this report explains the value Java brings to your projects. For fellow developers, we included some other projects in the Java ecosystem that you might want to look at. Check them out, have a play with them. It will make you a better developer.

My name is Anton, and I’m an IntelliJ IDEA addict. Whew, it feels good to say it out loud. The choice of IDE for developers is one of the most contentious debates in the software game. But why? After all, aren’t all IDEs more or less the same?
Perhaps you are Eclipse users who are interested in trying out IntelliJ IDEA, or perhaps considering the migration. Moving from Eclipse to IDEA can be quite overwhelming. My main purpose in writing this report is to show Eclipse users, specifically, how to get started using IDEA faster and with less headaches.

Lazy Coder's Visual Guide to RebelLabs' Developer Productivity Report 2013ZeroTurnaround
For a long time, developers have known that the tools we use and the methodologies we practice have an effect on the quality of our software and our ability to delivery releases predictably. However, this is often a gut feeling based on anecdotal evidence with no numbers to support this theory. Wouldn't be cool to see actual numbers on how doing Code Quality analysis, Pairing Up and using tools for VCS and Continuous Integration significantly improve our ability to delivery quality software? Then look no further. The State of Managed Runtimes 2013, by Attila SzegediZeroTurnaround
There’s JVM, and that’s it, right? Well, not exactly. Even within JVM, there’s an increasing support for running all kinds of non-Java languages: we have invokedynamic, but it’s being improved, and new layers of functionality are emerging on top of it, making JVM a better home for all kinds of programming languages. There’s life outside of JVM too. JavaScript seems to be a new assembler-lever compilation target even for C programs (I’ll show some amusing examples of what exactly you can run these days in a browser) , and there are some independent efforts at managed runtimes in various stages of completion that seem promising – PyPy, Topaz, Rubinius, Parrot VM (it’s alive again!). This talk is admittedly a language-runtime-enthusiast’s walk-through the things he finds interesting happening this year. Recorded at GeekOut 2013.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.
