Teach for America is an organization established in 1990 that recruits recent college graduates and professionals to teach for two years in underserved public schools. It aims to eliminate educational inequality. Cyrus Shepherd-Oppenheim teaches high school history and math in Los Angeles as a Teach for America corps member. Teach for America's nearly 30,000 alumni have impacted over 3 million students, providing opportunities for those in poverty to break the cycle of poverty through education.
