• In 1947, the British divided India, and Pakistan into
two parts (East and West), before that we were
together a piece of land.
• Eventually, on Dec 16, 1971 after “Bangladesh
Liberation War”, we got our most deserved
liberation.

5. Our Father of Nations
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (Bengali: শেখ মুজিবুর রহমান; 17 March 1920 – 15
August 1975).
Memory of the World Register of UNESCO: 7th March 1971 Speech of
Bangabandhu was a speech given by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman to lead the
people of Bangladesh to independence.
He served as the first President of Bangladesh and later as the Prime
Minister of Bangladesh from 17 April 1971 until his assassination on 15
August 1975.
He is our driving force behind the independence of Bangladesh. He is our
"Father of the Nation".
He is popularly dubbed with the title of "Bangabandhu" (Friend of
Bengal) by the people of Bangladesh.

7. Story Behind Our National Flag
The bottle green color depicts the ever-green
ambient of Bangladesh, and the middle red
circle symbolizes the blood sacrificed by our
brave sons during the liberation war in 1971.
The standard size of the flag is 10:6.
On the 42nd Victory Day (December 16,
2013), created a "human flag" which was
recorded in Guinness Book of World Records
as the world's largest human national flag.
