Terri placed her daughter McKenna up for adoption 16 years ago when she was 34 years old. She knew that as much as she wanted a child, she could not parent due to emotional, financial, mental and physical reasons. Placing McKenna for adoption was the hardest but smartest decision she ever made. Terri had a semi-open adoption, allowing her to maintain contact through letters, pictures and occasional visits. Though the process of healing from placing her child for adoption was difficult and painful at times, Terri does not regret her decision and is grateful for the relationship she still has with McKenna today.
