Ehsan Bayat's support for the American University of Afghanistan was recognized by cultural organizations in Washington, D.C. Under Bayat's support through the Bayat Foundation, AUAF has expanded significantly since its first class of 53 students in 2006, now offering bachelor's degrees in various subjects and enrolling over 2,000 students, including 100 in a business master's program. In recognition of renovations and constructions funded by the Bayat Foundation, Bayat received an honorary doctorate from AUAF.

2. Recently in Washington, D.C., several cultural
organizations from Afghanistan and the United States
recognized Ehsan Bayat’s support of the American
University of Afghanistan. With Bayat’s support, AUAF has
expanded dramatically since welcoming its first class of 53
students in 2006. In addition to its Foundation Studies
Program, which strengthens study skills and English-
language ability, the university has begun offering
bachelor’s degrees in subjects ranging from political
science and public administration to computer science.
The university now has over 2,000 students, including
more than 100 pursuing master’s degrees in business
administration.

3. Throughout American University of Afghanistan’s
history, the school has received support from the
Bayat Foundation, which Ehsan Bayat leads. The
organization has funded renovations or construction
of several buildings on the campus. In recognition
of his contributions to the school, Mr. Bayat
received an honorary doctorate in humane letters
from the university. Speaking at the Washington,
D.C. event, he noted the contributions of other
members of his family to the university’s success
and praised the efforts of the school’s chairman.
