 Townspeople were taunting British Sentry.
 Gun shot rang out and the British Sentry started to
fire. Crispus Attucks died.
 Parliament passed the Tea Act only allowing East
India Company to sell tea.
 Boston Tea party- 342 chests of tea were dumped
to the Harbor by Sons of Liberty
 As a result Boston harbor was closed till debt was
paid.

 Union had 22 million people in army
 Confederacy had 9 million
 With 3 million being slaves
 Had skill to make up for lack of people
 Confederates had Robert E. Lee from West
Point
