• According to Ministry of Forestry and Environment of RI, to be recognized, IPs territories need to be in
“Clean” and “Clear” Condition. Clean : Not overlap with Concession Permit. Clear : Recognized by Local
Regulations or Local Govt. Decree.
• 5,7 Million Ha Customary Forest from 520 Indigenous Territories Potential for Recognition from Government

conducted a research
on The Economic
Value of Indigenous
Communities, in 6
communities. Result
found that the
economic value in IPs
Communities are
higher then Regional
Government’s GRDP.

Counting (yet).
• This evidence is
important, to urge
government to
recognize IPs Rights
then build partnership
in managing this
potency.
