Hospice focuses on comfort care and emotional
support to help enhance coping with the transition
at end of life, using the patient’s wishes as a
primary guide. Hospice care helps to ease disease
symptoms such as pain, nausea, and breathing
problems, while helping to address the emotional,
mental and spiritual needs of the patient and
his/her family and friends. Providing information
and education about what to expect through the
disease/dying process is fundamental to successful
hospice care.
