“The quality of life in patients with MS is not solely determined by physical disability, but rather by the level of social support, living area, depression, level of education, employment, fatigue and religiosity. Accordingly, we suggest that these should be evaluated in every patient with MS as they may be modified by targeted interventions.” (Yamout et al, 2013)

Multiple Personalities
Multiple Personalities
Multiple personalities is a rare mental disorder in which an individual's personality appears to be separated by two or more specific personalities, all being connectable to that of a normal individual.
Incidence
Statistics show that the rate of DID occurrences are roughly .01% to 1% of the general population.
-More than 1/3 of people say that they feel as if they are watching themselves in a movie at times, and 7% of the population may have undiagnosed dissociative disorder.
Causes
The causes of multiple personalities disorder is controversial. The debate of many different hypothesis include:
-Could possibly be a reaction to a trauma.
-An innate ability to dissociate easily.
-Repeated episodes of severe physical or sexual abuse
as a child.
-The lack of supportive or comforting people to counteract
abusive relationships.
-The influence of other relatives with dissociative
symptoms or disorders.
Symptoms
According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, symptoms include "the presence or two or more distinct identities or personality traits"that alternate control of the individuals behavior, accompanied by the inability to recall personal information beyond what is expected through normal forgetfulness.
-Amnesia
-Depersonalization
-Derealization
-Identity Disturbances
Diagnosis
There is not real way to determine whether or not a person has DID. Many physicians have different outlooks on what DID is and what determines if a patient has the disorder or not. Most are misdiagnosed as depressed. But the average DID patient is in the mental health care system for 6 to 7 years before being diagnosed as a person with DID.
-The criteria, according to the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, require that an adult be recurrently controlled by two or more discrete personalities, accompanied my memory lapses for important information that is not caused by alcohol, drugs, or medications.

Most hospital staff and patients try to avoid rude physicians…
Lawyers look for them.
Jurors may not understand the medicine in a malpractice case, but all have been the target of rude or rushed care. This rude behavior multiplier leads to “Jackpot Justice”.
Lawyers just love a good “service lapse”- angry words, a “TUDE”, even a late return phone call, or a cranky staff person. They revel when doctors and nurses are at odds.
In fact, patients often sue not because of genuine rude behavior, but their perception of short, curt treatment, or a feeling of incomplete disclosure. How can caregivers improve their patients’ perceptions, their expectations of care, to immunize themselves against suits?
The failure of a planned action to be completed as intended, or as the use of a wrong plan to achieve an aim.
A preventable adverse effect of care, whether or not it is evident or harmful to the patient.

These are neutral stains made up of a mixture of oxidized methylene blue, azure, and Eosin Y and they performed on an air-dried slide that is post-fixed with methanol. Romanowsky stains are applied in the differentiation of cells, pathological examinations of samples like blood and bone marrow films and demonstration of parasites e.g malaria. There are four types of Romanoswsky stains:Giemsa stainJenner StainWright stainMay-Grunwald StainLeishman stainObjectives of Giemsa stainTo accurately prepare the Giemsa stain stock solutionTo stain and identify blood cellsTo differentiate blood cells nuclei from the cytoplasmPrincipleGiemsa stain is a gold standard staining technique that is used for both thin and thick smears to examine blood for malaria parasites, a routine check-up for other blood parasites and to morphologically differentiate the nuclear and cytoplasm of Erythrocytes, leucocytes and Platelets and parasites.Like any type of Romanowsky stains, it composed of both the Acidic and Basic dyes, in relation to affinities of acidity and basicity for blood cells. Azure and methylene blue, a basic dye binds to the acid nucleus producing blue-purple color. Eosin is an acidic dye that is attracted to the cytoplasm and cytoplasmic granules which are alkaline-producing red coloration. The stain must be buffered with water to pH 6.8 or 7.2, to precipitate the dyes to bind simple materials.Classically, Giemsa stain is a differential stain which is made up of a combination of reagents (Azure, Methylene blue, and Eosin dye) used widely in cytogenetics and histopathology for the diagnosis of:Malaria, spirochetes and other blood parasitesChlamydia trachomatis inclusion bodiesBorrelia sppYersinia pestisHistoplasma sppPneumocystis jiroveci cystsReagents UsedMethanolGiemsa powderGlycerinWater (Buffer)ProcedurePreparation of the Giemsa Stain Stock solution (500ml)Into 250ml of methanol, add 3.8g of Giemsa powder and dissolve.Heat the solution up to ~60oCThen, add 250ml of glycerin to the solution, slowly.Filter the solution and leave it to stand for about 1-2 months before use.Preparation of Working solutionAdd 10ml of stock solution to 80ml of distilled water and 10ml of methanolStaining procedure 1: Thin Film stainingOn a clean dry microscopic glass slide, make a thin film of the specimen (blood) and leave to air dry.dip the smear (2-3 dips) into pure methanol for fixation of the smear, lea
