NRGY62 intelligent aluminium curtain wall solution by Sapa Building SystemSapa Building System
The document describes the NRGY 62 curtain wall system, an intelligent and sustainable facade solution. It has outstanding performance, tested to withstand winds up to 3000 Pa and water penetration up to RE1500. It uses a strong smart pin system for fast installation and can support loads up to 600 kg. The system is also Passivhaus certified and offers thermal variants with U-values as low as 0.61 W/m2K. It allows for natural ventilation control through motorized operation of openings in the facade.

nature
is our passion, making a facade perform and function is our motto.
We have taken upon ourselves the responsibility of making facades functional in terms of
thermal Efficiency apart from many other parameters as a major issue to deal with.
We specialized in pre-tender support, design, engineering, fabrication, assembly, delivery,
installation in Curtain wall, Building envelope (BES) and Roofing systems. With the goal of
environment protection and energy saving, We work on aluminium windows & doors,
high-performance Building Skin Systems (glass, metal panel, stone, HPL, photovoltaic
panel, fabric), skylight and canopy systems, point-fixed systems and cable-net systems,
solar shading systems and metal panel roofing systems, etc.Leads Facade is now bravely facing challenges to be a winner, and has realized great-leapforward
development, and innovatively solving the environment protection and energy
saving issues in construction of BES. And at the same time makes full use of the green
energy resources--solar energy, maximally decreased the energy expenditure of
constructions, and alleviated the social energy pressure, as contribution to the humankind.
The document discusses energy efficient building envelopes from the perspective of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) in India. It covers key factors related to the building envelope that impact energy efficiency, such as opaque walls and spandrels, vision glass or fenestration, shading, and air leakage. Specific parameters discussed include insulation R-values, U-values, solar heat gain coefficients (SHGC), visible light transmittance, and building envelope sealing details. The benefits of using glass systems in construction are outlined. Key performance factors for glass like total heat gain, light transmission, and strategies to control daylight and energy are summarized.
plastic Facade- PLOYCARBONATE AND PTFE Revathy Royer
This document discusses polycarbonate and PTFE (Teflon) facade systems. It provides details on the materials, their properties, advantages for facades, installation processes, examples of installations, and disadvantages. Polycarbonate is a thermoplastic that can be used for transparent or translucent facades and roofs. It provides benefits like aesthetics, thermal performance, strength, weather resistance and fire resistance. PTFE is a Teflon-coated fiberglass that is durable, weather resistant and provides benefits like reflectivity, tensile strength and thermal stability. Examples described include installations at the King Fahd National Library and Burj Al Arab.
The Facade pattern provides a simplified interface to a more complex subsystem. It defines a higher-level interface that makes the subsystem easier to use. The Facade shields clients from subsystem components by promoting weak coupling between the subsystems and its clients. It encapsulates the subsystem and provides a single point of access to it.
Jeff Tsai is a Facacde Consultant and leads the Arup Shanghai team of building envelope specialists. He has over 23 years of experience in the construction industry and has been involved in projects all around the world, from design, testing, fabrication to site supervision and management of complex facade systems. For the last 15 years Jeff has worked in Asia, leading on a variety of projects of varying complexity, scale, environment, technical requirements and costs, which make him extremely experienced in the construction practices of this fast growing region.

This document summarizes research on adaptive facades. It discusses various facade functions including thermal, acoustic, and visual comfort. It describes different types of facade systems that provide ventilation, heating, cooling, and sun protection. These include double skin facades, box window facades, corridor facades, and chimney box windows. The document also discusses integrating mechanical systems into facades and developing facades as active, adaptable skins or organs of the building.
This lesson plan involves two activities for students to experiment with different materials as insulators and design their own experiment to test the effectiveness of insulation installation. The objectives are for students to understand how physical properties influence a material's insulating ability and to identify variables in scientific experiments. Materials listed include containers, water, insulation samples, and thermometers for measuring heat transfer.

The document discusses three buildings and their sustainable design features and strategies. It describes the Hostess Building as having mature trees lining its southern facade, providing energy savings and a welcoming streetscape. The Garden Street Lofts has a 6,000 square foot green roof that saves energy, retains stormwater, and increases roof longevity. Edge Lofts has numerous eco-labels and sustainability certifications and utilizes energy efficient systems, materials, and on-site renewable energy generation. The document outlines benefits of sustainable buildings such as increased property values, energy savings, and tenant retention.
Edwin is a Senior Engineer in Cundall’s Shanghai office. He is a LEED AP and CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant. He is an expert in dynamic thermal, energy and mechanical systems modelling, helping to develop low energy design strategies for a wide range of buildings, including the application of renewable energy technologies. He is particularly experienced in the field of adaptive thermal comfort, and HVAC simulation.
In this presentation Edwin puts forward the idea that locality is key, a ‘sustainable’ solution for one location can be a disaster in another. It follows a discussion on the tools of the trade, what and how you need to model in a building to produce a sustainable outcome. He also presents two unique case studies to explain the above.

An overview of the adaptation of double facade systems for iconic buildings in the Gulf Region through the adaptation of the traditional mashrabiya screen.
The document discusses sustainable building facades and their design. It provides three key points:
1) Building facades play an important role in separating the interior and exterior environment and creating the building's image. Sustainable facades aim to reduce energy usage while maintaining comfort.
2) There are two main types of facades - opaque facades made of solid materials and glazed facades like curtain walls made primarily of glass. Material properties, insulation levels, and glazing choices impact a facade's thermal and visual performance.
3) Proper facade design considers the local climate and orientation to passively reduce energy usage. Elements like shading, natural ventilation, and daylighting should be optimized based on orientation.
The document summarizes a case study on eco-friendly building materials in Pune, India. It lists the objectives of the study which are to develop a list of conventional building materials, evaluate existing eco-rating systems, recommend a new rating system, and suggest eco-friendly materials for Pune. It then describes the methodology, presents a sample list of materials categorized by type and availability, discusses criteria for evaluating eco-friendliness, and provides draft lists of conventional and potential eco-friendly materials. The study aims to promote more sustainable building practices in Pune's construction industry.
Green building is the practice of increasing building efficiency and reducing environmental impacts. It involves using renewable materials, efficient technologies, and water and energy conservation practices. Some benefits are lower costs, improved indoor air quality, energy efficiency, and healthier lifestyles. While initial costs may be higher, there are long-term savings. In India, various agencies promote green building standards and top cities have implemented policies and codes to encourage more sustainable construction.
This document discusses green buildings and their benefits. It defines green buildings as those that use energy, water, and resources efficiently to reduce environmental impact. The key principles of green buildings are structure, energy and water efficiency, material reuse, and waste reduction. The Indian Green Building Council promotes green construction in India using rating systems to certify buildings at different sustainability levels. Examples like the Suzlon headquarters and Hyderabad airport illustrate leading green projects in India. Green buildings provide environmental, economic, and social benefits like reduced pollution, lower operating costs, and better occupant health.
