This document summarizes Mel Levine's theory of eight neurodevelopmental constructs: attention, temporal-sequential ordering, spatial ordering, memory, language, neuromotor functions, social cognition, and higher-order cognition. It provides examples of problems in each construct area and notes the areas of the brain associated with each construct. The talk was given by Tracey Tokuhama-Espinosa at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Quito, Ecuador and discusses how understanding these constructs can help students, parents and teachers.
