3. How it all began
According to Wikipedia, Transformers is a media franchise produced by American toy
company Hasbro and Japanese toy company Takara Tomy.
Initially a line of transforming toys rebranded from Takara's Diaclone and Microman
toylines, the franchise began in 1984 with the Transformers toy line.
The story focuses on 2 factions of transforming alien robots called Autobots and the
Decepticons in an endless battles for victory.
In its decades-long history, the franchise has expanded to encompass comic books,
animation, video games and films.
Generation 1 or G1 covers both the original animated television series The Transformers
and the comic book series of the same name, which are further divided into Japanese and
British spin-offs respectively.
Sequels followed, such as the Generation 2 comic book and Beast Wars TV series, which
became its own mini-universe.

4. 2 ALL ABOUT TRANSFORMERS
Generation 1 characters underwent two reboots with Dreamwave in 2001 and IDW
Publishing in 2005, also as a remastered series.
There have been other incarnations of the story based on different toy lines during and
after the 20th-Century.
The first was the Robots in Disguise series, followed by 3 shows Armada, Energon and
Cybertron.
They constitute a single universe called the Unicron Trilogy.
For movies, the first animated feature Transformers The Movie was released in 1986
between Seasons 2 and 3 while the live-action version was finally released in 2007,
followed by sequels in 2009, 2011 and 2014.
The Transformers Animated Series merged concepts from the G1 story-arc, the 2007
live-action film and the Unicron Trilogy.
Transformers Prime previously aired on The Hub.
Although initially a separate and competing franchise started in 1983, Tonka's Gobots
became the intellectual property of Hasbro after their buyout of Tonka in 1991.
Subsequently, the universe depicted in the animated series Challenge Of The Gobots and
follow-up film GoBots: Battle Of The Rock Lords was retroactively established as an
alternate universe within the Transformers franchise.

5. Birth of transformers
Before the dawn of time, the One - also known as the Source and the sentient core of the
Universe - is an extra-dimensional entity in whom order and chaos exist in perfect
harmony.
The One created the astral being Unicron, which was then split into half. One remained
Unicron while the other became Primus.
While Primus embodied order and justice upon his birth, Unicron was left with chaos and
evil, which gave him a sense of fallen existence.
Thus began the long-time battle between the two. Later their rampaging feud brought
them to the physical world where they were accidentally trapped inside metallic elements
– which eventually paved their way to become gigantic robots.
Then Primus turned into the planet Cybertron and created the original 13 Primes, who
were each infused with a fragment of Primus' life essence known as the Autobot Matrix
Of Leadership, to help himself in his war against Unicron.
When the war was over, Unicron was sucked into a black hole and vanished from reality
until Transformers The Movie in 1986.
Meanwhile, Primus entered his eons-long slumber while the original 13 Primes began to
create other robots and thus began the Transformers story.

6. GENERATION ONE
Generation One is a retroactive term for the Transformers characters that appeared
between 1984 and 1993.
The Transformers began with the 1980s Japanese toy lines Microman and Diaclone.
The former utilized varying humanoid-type figures while the latter presented robots able
to transform into everyday vehicles, electronic items or weapons.
Takara Tomy has completely redesigned
the newest Masterpiece Convoy for this
figure release and what an amazing job
they did.
Convoy, or Optimus Prime as many know
him, is fully transformable and comes with
his trailer which also transforms.
Convoy, as leader of the Autobots, carries
the Matrix in his chest and the figure's
chest opens up to reveal it showing the
amazing detail.

7. Leader of the Autobots, Optimus
Prime is the largest, strongest and
wisest of all Autobots.
Jazz loves Earth culture and always
looking to learn more.
His knowledge of Earth is what makes
him the indispensable right-hand man
to Optimus Prime aka second-in-

Once good friends and now arch-rival to
Starscream after discovering the latter’s
real intentions to join and fight for

Third Party Transformers are toys created by third party companies – not associated
with Hasbro nor Takara into enhanced versions of their original G1 counterparts.
I first heard of these in 2014 even though they have been going on for several years now
since 2010.
One of the most popular concepts they used are the infamous Transformers Combiners –
groups of 3-6 robots who can combine into one giant super robot.
Apparently Hasbro and Takara are aware of these but whether they will eventually take
legal action against those companies for copyrights infringement are still open to debate
at this point of writing.
Given the fact that most of these third party toys are proving to be more popular with
fans than original Transformers given their enhancements in combining, postures, looks,
weapons and accessories.
Among all the third party
Transformers toys, Shuraking
impresses me the most.
Not only it is the largest of all
combiners, its concepts and designs
in looks, weapons and accessories
are very close to the G1 Dinobots
appearance.

Optimus Prime and Megatron respectively.
Transformers received mixed to positive reviews and
was a box office success.
It is the forty-fifth highest-grossing film and the fifth
highest-grossing film of 2007, grossing
approximately $709 million worldwide.
The film won 4 awards from the Visual Effects
Society and was nominated for three Academy
Awards for Best Sound Editing, Mixing and Best
Visual Effects.
The performance of Shia Labeouf was praised by Empire and Peter Cullen's reprisal of
Optimus Prime from the 1980s was well received by fans.
Despite mostly negative reviews, it was a commercial success and grossed more than its
predecessor.

65. 58 ALL ABOUT TRANSFORMERS
A third film - Transformers - Dark Of The Moon - was
released on June 29, 2011, in 3-D and went on to gross over
$1 billion, despite receiving mixed reviews.
A fourth film - Transformers - Age Of Extinction - was
released on June 27, 2014, which also grossed over $1
billion, though it got mixed to negative reviews.
A fifth film - tentatively titled Transformers 5 -
The Last Knight - is scheduled for a summer
2017 release at the time of writing this.
It will focus more on the creation of
Transformers and their real masters from
Optimus Prime's outer space perspective as
well as the concurrent events happening on
Earth.

66. AGE OF EXTINCTION
The last movie to be featured in 2014 at the time of
writing this, Age Of Extinction took place 5 years after
the events of Dark Of The Moon.
In the wake of Chicago Invasion by Decepticons and
humans success in defeating them with the help of
Autobots, the US government views Transformers as a
major threat in general.
Despite the differences brewing in the political arena, a
secret service known as the Cemetery Wind was formed
to hunt down and destroy all remaining robots whether
they are Autobots or Decepticons.
Realizing they could not match the robots in strength and
firepower, they enlisted the help of former Decepticon
now turned bounty hunter Lockdown and his troops.
The secret ambush decimated more Autobots than Decepticons as a result and Optimus
Prime and his remaining soldiers were forced into hiding all over Earth.
Until a compassionate human scientist Cade Yeager discovered him as a truck by chance.

REVENGE OF the FALLEN
Sequel to Transformers first live action movie, Revenge Of
The Fallen focuses very much on 2 characters.
One is The Fallen – who actually founded Decepticons
after betraying his fellow robotic brothers - the 13 Primes
- whom Autobot leader Optimus Prime is the descendent
of.
The other is Optimus who sacrificed his life for human
friend and main character in the last movie - Sam
Witwicky - in his rescue mission against Decepticons.
Because of that, Sam resolves to make amends by
searching for the Autobot Matrix Of Leadership as the key
to reviving Optimus, clearing his name and defending
Earth from the Decepticons’ attack once again.

86. After his resurrection by Sam
Witwicky from death and Jetfire's
willingness to sacrifice his parts to
make him stronger, Optimus Prime
rises to the challenge of the final
battle against Megatron and The
Fallen in his new body armor.
Bumblebee and Sam were best friends almost
from the moment they first met face to face.

87. Equipped with an assault rifle and projectile-firing crossbow, the latter two of which
serve as Ironhide's TMs heavily modified Topkick truck mode as well as roof-mounted
gun and bullbar respectively.
Built to replace decreased Jazz in the first
movie, Sideswipe is every bit as good if not
better with his slick moves and
transformation abilities.

88. Arcee jumped at the chance to join up with
Ironhide and the other Decepticon hunters on
Earth.
She proved such an effective warrior that she
was quickly given command of her own strike
team, made up of robots similar to her in
attitude and design.
Racing across the sands of the
northern Sahara desert, the roar of
his engine echoing off the ever-
shifting dunes, Autobot Ratchet
charges towards the inevitable
confrontation with Megatron and his
assembled Decepticon army.

be a full-fledged warrior under the
command of Optimus Prime for as long as
he can remember.
Because he is slightly less hyperactive than
his brother Mudflap, Autobot Skids has
always thought of himself as the smart
one.

Wheelie never really

Transformers
Transformers is a 2007 American science
fiction action film based on the Transformers
toy line.
The film, which combines computer animation
with live-action, is directed by Michael Bay,
with Steven Spielberg serving as executive
producer.
It is the first instalment of the live-action
Transformers film series starring Shia LaBeouf
as Sam Witwicky, a teenager who gets caught
up in a war between the heroic Autobots and
the villainous Decepticons, two factions of alien
robots who can disguise themselves by
transforming into everyday machinery,
primarily vehicles.
The Autobots intend to use the All Spark, the
object that created their robotic race, in an
attempt to rebuild Cybertron and end the war
while the Decepticons desire control of the All
Spark with the intention of using it to build an
army by giving life to the machines of Earth.
Tyrese Gibson, Josh Duhamel, Anthony Anderson, Megan Fox, Rachael Taylor, John
Turturro, and Jon Voight also star while voice actors Peter Cullen and Hugo Weaving

Optimus Prime is ready to rule the

This Transformers technology is

other Autobots, Bumblebee's job is to do what
he does best.

97. Autobot weapon specialist and old-
fashioned warrior, Ironhide is the big
stick that backs up the soft steps of
Optimus Prime.
Vanity is not a fault from which
Autobot medic Ratchet typically
suffers.
For he is more concerned with
saving the lives of his comrades than
with what they think about him.

98. The coolest of the Autobots, Jazz rolls into
battle against the Decepticons with slick
moves and a banging sound system.
Megatron is a towering, bulky and
dinosaur-footed monstrosity with
a varied color scheme noticeably
different than that of the movie
version.
His jet mode looks a little bit like
one of Leonardo da Vinci's flying
machines.

99. Starscream, renowned traitor and
Decepticon malcontent, is one of the
more out-looking robots of the Voyager
Class.
His F-22 Raptor transforms into a
bulky apelike robot topped by a bell-
shaped semi-insectoid-head.
Along with Megatron and Starscream,
Blackout is the largest of the Decepticons.
He pursues his target with relentless
efficiency, allowing nothing to stop him in
his task.

100. Scorponok is barely what the other
Transformers would even call alive.
Unlike most of his fellow robots, he
prefers his alternate mode with its
energized stinger and drill-claws, to
his robot mode.

Besides animation series, movies and toys, video games also played an important role in
Transformers franchise.
Since 1985, Transformers have been an annual fixture the way FIFA Soccer was in mid
90s.
But it was 2001 which happened to the year Sony Playstation or PS2 came about that it
finally achieved its breakthrough with its superb 3D and CG animation graphics, powerful
music and special effects that gave fans the feeling like as though they were part of the
animation and movies.
Since then, there have been at least 2-3 games yearly.
Not just the main story but perspective gameplay from Autobots, Decepticons and human
allies.
Transformers - Dark Of The Moon is a third-
person action game that ups the ante in the
series' ongoing battle between Autobot and
Decepticon.
