Mahadeo Vithal Kale was born in 1912 in India and educated through 7th standard, funding his education through his own work. He worked as a police constable but disliked the role, then became a primary school teacher. He authored arithmetic textbooks published in the states of Mysore and Bombay. As a teacher and headmaster, he worked until retiring in 1970 after 58 years, last leading N.M. Joshi Primary School. He lived 87 years, had 3 brothers and 1 sister, and passed away on January 30, 1998.

My father was born in 1912. Took his education in Katrakhatav in Satara till IVth std. and
proceeded to Rayat Shikshan Samastha, Satara and completed his education till his VIIth std.
and also passed the most important examination known by British Govt. as Vernacular Final.
This examination has subsequently been cancelled by Indian Govt.
He worked while he learnt in School. His education was totally self-funded and stay
was through a Boarding managed by a Rayat Shikshan Samastha.
He later on was recruited in Bombay Police as Constable, the job he hated right from
the day one as he had to be rash and violent with criminals. He without much trouble got
subsequently a job as a primary teacher. He worked hard, wrote books on Arithmetic which
were duly published as Text Books in the State of Mysore and the State of Bombay, which
are currently known as Karnata and Maharashtra state respectively. He was always given the
best school for teaching and also for heading as a Head Master. He worked till July 14, 1970
after completion of 58 years the last school he headed was N.M. Joshi Primary School.
My father Shri Mahadeo Vithal Kale lived for 87 years. He had 3 brothers and one
sister, all have expired by now. My father breathed his last on January 30, 1998.
