 Tuyil is one of the best, well organized, indigenous drug
manufacturing company in Nigeria
 It was registered and approved by NAFDAC on May, 1996
 It is founded by Mr. Oluwole Awotuyi, located at New Yidi, Ilorin,
Kwara state
 It existence encompasses the following departments

Quality control department

4.  Vitamin C is also known as Ascorbic acid
 It is a water soluble vitamin that is naturally present in various foods and sold as a dietary supplement.
 It is just the most amazing thing that you can use on your skin especially, if you have a dark
spots(scurvy).
 It is involved in the repair of tissue and the enzymatic production of certain neurotransmitters
 It is use for prevention of common cold
 Vitamin C serum is a liquid base (fluid) which can be easily made.
 Vitamin C serum oxidize is really fast, it suppose be store it in a small bottle that is dark in order to not
allow direct sun exposure.

5. MATERIAL AND REAGENT
Chemicals
 L(+)-ascorbic acid (vitamin C powder)
 Distilled water
Equipment
 Laboratory balance
 Spatula
 Glass container (25 ml glass beaker)
 Stirrer
 glass funnel
 Glass storage bottle (look dark)
 Label tape

6. PROCEDURE
 30g of distilled water was Weighed
 15g of glycerin was added to distilled water
 It was stirred very well until it turn clear solution without bubbling is
observed.
 Ascorbic acid of 5g was added to initial mixture.
 Settled Ascorbic acid at the button was stirred very well until it
become clear(it may take some minutes before it clear).
 The prepared mixture was transferred into a storage bottle using
tube cover.
 The bottle was labelled appropriately.

8. DISCUSSION
The vitamin C serum turn clear and colorless liquid
which show that it is good to use but if it turn yellow,
it shows that it has spoiled and should be discarded
immediately.

9. CONCLUSION
 From the above procedures and
discussion, it can be concluded that quality
vitamin C (ascorbic acid) of desired
concentration can be produced effectively.
