Alfred Binet was a French psychologist who invented the first usable intelligence test, known today as the IQ test, in order to identify students who needed special help in school. Along with his collaborator Théodore Simon, Binet published revisions of his intelligence scale in 1908 and 1911 to assess a person's intelligence, with the final version appearing just before his death.
