Southeastern Louisiana University was opened on
July 7,1925.

Southeastern was founded by President Linus A.
Sims.

On March 3, 1946 Southeastern was formally
approved into full membership in the Southern
Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

Southeastern celebrated their 75th anniversary in
2000.

9. Why?

I have chosen Southeastern Louisiana University
because I want to work as a pediatric ER nurse. I
would like to attend SLU because two of my
cousins have gone to SLU for nursing and they
told me that it was a great nursing program. They
have an excellent school for the career I would
like to pursue. Also, it is not too far or too close
to my house, which is a good thing.
