Roberto Clemente was a famous Puerto Rican baseball player who played for the Pittsburgh Pirates. He was born in 1934 in Puerto Rico and had a childhood where he enjoyed playing baseball. As an adult, he became known for his baseball skills and for visiting sick children in hospitals. Unfortunately, Clemente died in a plane crash on December 31, 1972 at age 38 while attempting to deliver aid to victims of an earthquake in Nicaragua. He was the first Latin American player inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame and continues to be remembered for his talent on the field and humanitarian work off the field.
