According to a one week poll on self-treatment for alcohol hangover headaches: 1) Drinking plenty of fluids was the top recommendation to treat dehydration from alcohol. 2) Taking aspirin was discouraged due to the risk of stomach bleeding as aspirin is an irritant. 3) Taking Tylenol was strongly contraindicated due to the risk of liver toxicity when combined with alcohol. The doctor encouraged further researching natural remedies instead.

▪ Drink a lot of fluids.
▪ Excellent answer. Alcohol is a diuretic which causes
dehydration.
▪ Take an oral aspirin.
▪ This is a contraindication. Aspirin is an irritant to the stomach
wall lining and it may cause a bleeding ulcer.
▪ Take an oral Tylenol.
▪ This is an absolute contraindication. Tylenol together with
alcohol may cause severe toxicity to the liver.
▪ Sleep through the misery.
▪ My sympathy. New science has emerged. You encourage me to
research for a natural remedy right away!
