The design of the course features two
distinctly different playing zones.
The west side of the course is similar
to the best traditional American golf
courses, with various lakes and the pine
forest acting as the perfect backdrop.
The houses are so discreetly imbedded
in the topography and concealed by the
pines, that golfers will barely find them
amidst the fairways. The east side of the
course, where the remaining 12 holes are,
is literally real estate free and played in
a slow descend towards the riverbank.
Among the most stunning holes are the 4,
5 and 6 sets just by the edge of the Sado,
offering captivating views of the Estuary

Legal Classification
Under Portuguese Law governing tourism
projects, the ALCACER ART & GOLF
RESORT is classified as a Tourism Ensemble
(Conjunto Turístico) as defined in the
new Decree-Law Nº 39/2008, published
in Diário da República, of March 7, and
the new Ordinance Nº 327/2008 referring
to classification requirements. Other
legislation pertaining to tourism also
applies. The Masterplan has been licensed
as an Official City Plan (PP - Plano de
Pormenor) by initiative of the Mayorship
of Alcacer do Sal, under Municipal
Ordinance (Deliberação Camarária em
Reunião de Câmara) of August 14, of 2008,
whose contract was published in Diário da
República, on September 5, of 2008.
The Plano de Pormenor, and its
Environmental Impact Assessment
(AIA- Avaliação de Impacto
Ambiental), was submitted for
analysis by the Municipality to the
various institutions, on December
22, of 2008, followed by a Services’
Conference held in March, 23 of 2009,
immediately followed by 30 days
of public hearings. It was officially
voted and approved by the Municipal
Assembly (Assembleia Municipal), on
December, 29, of 2009, and sent for
publishing in the Diário da República,
ascribing to the property building
rights for the next 10 years.
Medical services can be rendered by the
National Health Services facilities, namely
the Health Centre of Alcácer do Sal and
the Setúbal Regional Hospital. Fire Station
and Certified Heliport at a
distance of 7,5 Km.
