Al Capone arrived in Chicago in 1919 and worked for Johnny Torrio, eventually becoming his right-hand man. Torrio left for Italy due to poor health, leaving Capone to run the criminal empire. Capone expanded the business through bootlegging, brothels, and other illegal activities. He used violence to eliminate rivals but was never convicted of murder. The government eventually charged Capone with tax evasion, and he was sentenced to 11 years in prison.
