1) Southeast Sulawesi has significant mineral resources such as 97.4 billion tons of nickel deposits and 1.125 million tons of gold deposits. 2) The region has potential sources of renewable energy from hydro power rivers like the Lasolo River (90 MW potential) and geothermal areas like Mangelo (50 MWE potential). 3) Southeast Sulawesi currently has an installed electricity capacity of 89.17 MW through PT PLN but the demand for mining industries could reach 640 MW for smelters and refineries and 230 MW for stainless steel plants. The region is exploring developing its renewable energy resources to power mining and industrial growth.
