This document summarizes a project that aims to reform the juvenile justice system in India through participatory design. It notes high recidivism rates and issues like lack of rehabilitation and engagement of stakeholders in the current system. Through research, the project identified pain points like desensitization of staff, lack of follow up, and under-resourced homes. Their proposed solution, called the "ResQ Model", aims to reduce the need for counselors, facilitate difficult conversations, teach implicitly, and create a safe space for self-expression to rehabilitate juveniles. It also suggests opening observation homes and involving more stakeholders in decisions to reform the system centered around the children.
