15 kV - 38 kV AIR to AIR Bushing
Bushing Description
These bushings have top self-cleaning
sheds or skirts, which are designed for
outdoor applications. The shanks of
the bushings have petticoats in order
to meet their ratings where AIR to AIR
applications are required. They will
have semi-conductive glazing where
higher voltage ratings apply.
A solid copper conductor is mounted
through the center of the bushing,
sized depending on the current rating
required. The conductor is held in place
by Aluminum end caps at the top and
bottom. Each conductor is provided
with standard threads at the top and
with a 2-hole flattened spade at the
bottom.
H-J Enterprises also manufactures a
variety of terminals that will mount
to a threaded stud, which are based
on the external cable mounting
preferences of the unit.
Bushing Installation
The bushing mounts to the tank by
means of a two-piece Aluminum clamp.
½” studs must be welded around a 7 ½”
bolt circle to accommodate the clamp.
The gasket is then installed over the
bushing shank onto the bushing gasket
surface. The bushing assembly is then
installed through the tank hole and the
clamps placed over the studs against
the shoulder flange of the bushing.
