Myaiesec.net is a virtual platform and database that contains everything related to AIESEC. It provides approved members access to a public profile where their name and surname generate their email address. The level of access on Myaiesec.net depends on the user's current role within AIESEC.
The document discusses concerns a hospital employer may have if faced with a union raid. It analyzes the situation using an open systems approach, noting the employer should consider the legal, political and social environments, actors involved and their power dynamics, processes like negotiations and strikes, and potential outputs like reduced productivity. While raids can increase hostility and compromise employer control, unions may justify raids by arguing for better wages or leadership, which could benefit all system actors if outcomes are more equitable. Both criticisms and defenses of raiding are discussed.

Editor's Notes
Good Afternoon! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cM7HsJuo4XE (Play this at the beginning)For those of you who have not heard of AIESEC, it is the LARGEST student run organization in the WORLD and extends to over 1100 universities in 110 different countries. AIESEC primarily focuses on facilitation international internships and providing leadership opportunities.Today’s information session will consist of two parts. In the first part we will be describing AIESEC’s exchange program and how it distinguishes Aiesecers from its peers. Afterwards we will be talking about AIESEC here at Queen’s, the different portfolios, and some positions that we are looking to fill.
Allow me to introduce you to some AIESEC alumni. On the left is Kofi Annan, the former secretary-general of the United nations and on the right is Bill Clinton, former president of the united States.
Robertkennedy, another former president and Bono, the lead singer of U2.
Although taking part in an AIESEC internship does not guarantee that you will be the future president or a famous musician, it DOES differentiate you from your peers. The experience will open your eyes to the world and more importantly push your boundaries and push your comfort zone to make you a stronger individual.Being such a large organization, AIESEC provides over 8000 internship positions in over 110 countries through a well maintained database which you will get access to. AIESEC would also be a great addition to any resume because it is recognized globally and partnered with many business such as NIKE, ING, Microsoft, and PWC. We frequently run leadership and business development workshops to help you improved both personally and professionally. Once you pass the selection process, you will be matched with a manager who will support you throughout all aspects of the exchange process. Perhaps the best aspect of joining AIESEC is the vast network that you become a part of. You will have the opportunity to attend international conferences and network with some of the 50,000 AIESEC members in the world.
More Detail about the exchange process.-Exchange can last from 6 weeks to 78 weeks.-Cost of living is covered and accommodation is usually covered.-You can choose to go on an internship all throughout the year but many students do choose to go during the summer. -The administration fee for the internship is $415 dollars. This covers the cost to maintain the database, your cost of living, accommodation, and the cost to run workshops. This fee will be paid only if you are able to successfully pass the review board.-Some of the things that aren’t covered is airfare and travel insurance.-In order to go on an AIESEC internship, you must be between the ages of 18 and 30 years old and must either be a current student or graduated in the last 2 years.-Jessica will now go into details about the steps in the process.
The first step is the selection process.-After this information session, you will have until November 9to apply. Applications can be found on the website.-If your application is successful, you will be allowed to attend an AIESEC Exchange meeting where you will meet some of the managers who will be helping out with the exchange process. -You will then evaluated by a panel during a review board. The review board has 2 sections, the first is a group assessment and the second is a panel interview.
-If you are successful at the review board. You will be able to pay your administration fee and begin using the database to find an internship. We will be holding training sessions to ensure that you can quickly learn to use the system and find an internship.
AIESEC Queen’s will organize a mandatory seminar prior to departure to ensure the success of the internship. The seminar will provide some specific details regarding the style of living in countries of interest as well workshops on dealing with culture shock and worst case scenarios.
This is an example of a project that provided a handful of positions for internships. This particular opportunity allowed interns to travel to Vietnam to help raise awareness for HIV-AIDS. -There is a section on the outgoing exchange application for you to indicate if you would like to intern for a special project.
