our historic resources important?
Our well-being is served by knowing and understanding
the place in which we live. Heritage is our collec=ve memory.
Old Strathcona is a repository of the most significant collec=on
of commercial historic resources in the city. It serves as an important
memory bank for Edmontonians. To be valuable, the memories
have to be authen=c. We are always in danger of losing our memory,
as the city grows and reinvents itself… so when the will exists,
designa1on as a tool for preserva1on is a good strategy.
