3. In order to be “the best”, you first have to possess the expertise that comes as a result of experience. For
more than 15 years – first as Jacobson Companies, and today as Norbert Dentressangle, we’ve been
building that experience and growing our reputation as the best provider of third-party logistics to the
world’s leading agribusiness companies.

Thanks to our homegrown origins in America’s Heartland, the people here at Norbert Dentressangle understand the
important role our agribusiness customers (and their customers) play in feeding and fueling our country. We gained our first
agribusiness client in 2001, leveraging our similar origins and cultures and our company history of providing warehousing
services to the chemical industry. At that time, we were just beginning to become a player in the freight management arena,
and our customer was less than half the size they are today. Since that day, we have not only been adding new customers,
but also adding to our service offerings and refining our processes. Whether it is through freight management, warehousing
and distribution, packaging, or dedicated delivery services, Norbert Dentressangle is proud to say that we touch some part
of the supply chains of all major players in this time-sensitive and crucial industry.
INTRODUCTION
4. Our load coordinators are responsible for
managing logistics and transportation, processing
daily orders through EDI, and creating a cohesive
workflow by combining trips, optimizing loads,
preparing orders, and identifying backhaul
opportunities.
Our coordinators are your key point-of-contact,
responsible for building relationships within your
business, your distribution centers, and your
carriers, by engaging in personal, one-on-one
communication. Through these relationships,
they ensure maximum efficiencies by monitoring
shipments to maintain on time, accurate, and
satisfactory deliveries.
A KEY PLAYER IN THE ORGANIZATION: LOAD COORDINATOR
Whether you operate a centralized delivery network or
your production plants are fully independent, as one
of Norbert Dentressangle’s agribusiness customers,
you will benefit from our ability to customize a full-
service solution for managing your freight. We provide
a single point of contact for all your needs, including
scheduling of inbound and outbound appointments,
receiving, tracking and tracing, and freight audit and
bill payment. You and your carriers can rest assured
that when you call with questions, you’re talking
to someone who understands your needs and is
personally committed to exceeding them.
Our freight management service offering provides
a level of in-depth reporting that has opened our
customers’ eyes to the inner workings of their actual
transportation costs. We are able to consolidate
loads, and as part of the nationwide Norbert
Dentressangle network of customers, utilize backhaul
opportunities where and when they exist to drive
down costs.
FOCUS: FREIGHT MANAGEMENT
5. Our Customer:
A leading manufacturer of hybrid seed,
shipping product to approximately
70 countries around the world.
Our Success:
Norbert Dentressangle’s US branch presented a unique partnership
opportunity, based on our own history and our established successes
with other agribusiness customers.
During the implementation period, our team spent time personally
introducing themselves to the staff at our customer’s production facilities
and qualifying their carriers so they could continue serving the customers
they had come to know so well. Our load coordinators have developed
personalized relationships with plant personnel and drivers, helping to
optimize delivery routes and best meet their needs.
Our initial pilot sites were launched in spring 2013, during our customer’s
peak season, with minimal service interruptions. Norbert Dentressangle
worked hand-in-hand with our customer to map out challenges and
develop timeframes, ensuring implementation was done right. By
October 2014, all 29 locations were integrated into the Norbert
Dentressangle program, and for the first time, our customer was able to
have full visibility into their freight delivery network. Through this unified
network, Norbert Dentressangle has been successful in optimizing
our customer’s freight, consolidating loads, identifying backhaul
opportunities, and reducing both empty miles and cost.
The Challenge:
Over its almost 90 year history, our
customer’s distribution network
had grown to the point where it was
operating approximately 30 separate
production plants that functioned
independently of one another. In
order to gain better visibility into
their delivery network, control costs,
and serve their customers in the
most effective and efficient manner
possible, this industry leader sought
a supply chain partner to help them
refine and manage their processes
– all without alienating their existing
carrier base or the end-customers
who had come to know and depend
on them.

6. Our dedicated contract carriage drivers are
some of the most important resources in our
organization. As the name implies, these drivers
are assigned to a dedicated route, making
stops at the same locations on a preset basis.
What that means, is that these men and women
become the face of two companies – ours and
our customer’s. Each Norbert Dentressangle
driver is highly qualified and screened before
joining our team. They are well-versed in safe-
driving techniques and committed to getting your
products delivered into the right hands on time.
A KEY PLAYER IN THE ORGANIZATION: OUR DRIVERS
Since 2012, Norbert Dentressangle has been
providing dedicated contract carriage (DCC)
services to our agribusiness customers,
affording them all the advantages of a private
fleet with none of the associated liabilities or
capital investment. As a DCC customer, you
are assured superior, reliable service from
dependable, well-trained drivers who function as
a member of your own team and deliver on the
promise of a personal commitment to quality,
excellence, and safety. Our customized, multi-
faceted solutions drive efficiencies, centralize
operations, and optimize your network while
providing in-depth KPIs and detailed reporting.
We meet each customer’s unique needs by
using full-time drivers and tailor-made solutions
that provide gain share plans in the off season,
continuous moves, drop-and-hook shipments,
and/ or customer-direct farm deliveries.
Furthermore, we are able to provide pop-up fleet
solutions to meet increased demand during your
peak shipping seasons.
FOCUS: DEDICATED CONTRACT CARRIAGE
7. The Challenge:
Our customer was in search of a
supply chain partner capable of
developing a distribution network
focused on consolidation and multi-
stop truckload deliveries in order to
provide a cost-effective solution for
plant-transfers and dealer deliveries.
Our Customer:
An innovative subsidiary of a leading
agribusiness company, distributing an
elite germplasm.
Our Success:
As their dedicated contract carriage provider, Norbert Dentressangle
worked to identify consolidation opportunities and staffed our
fleet with drivers who understand the time-sensitive needs of our
customer’s product. Over the years, we have worked to significantly
reduce the number of less-than-truckload shipments for this
customer, ensuring that their transportation costs are reduced and
their customers receive a better overall delivery experience. Norbert
Dentressangle has been honored twice by this customer with an
award celebrating the safe-driving mindset of our DCC drivers.

8. Our warehouse associates are some of the
most “behind-the-scenes” members of our
organization, but their personal commitment to
our customers’ excellence is as strong as those
on the front lines. These men and women are
responsible for taking care of the daily orders
that come in through EDI from distribution
centers, farmers, or any other number of
sources. They pick, pack, and ship orders, and
by using our integrated technology solutions,
they are able to see individual orders and confirm
the right product gets to the right place. Our
associates also assist in bulk-to-bag assembly or
any number of value-added services, depending
on the warehouse and customer needs.
A KEY PLAYER IN THE ORGANIZATION: WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE
Our long-standing history of providing
warehousing, distribution, and associated
value-added services to chemical
customers is what won us our very first
agribusiness customer, and today we
boast over 1.4 million square feet of
warehouse space serving agribusiness
customers. These sites range from public
to dedicated facilities based on the
needs of our customers. In addition to
scheduling inbound and outbound deliveries
and storage of your product, Norbert
Dentressangle also offers a wide array of
value-added services, including (but not
limited to) bulk-to-bag, bag-to-bulk, quality
assurance, and quality control. As with all
of our customers, Norbert Dentressangle’s
expansive nationwide footprints means that
you’re never limited to our existing space
or compromising where you need to be in
order to best serve your end customers.
FOCUS: WAREHOUSING AND DISTRIBUTION
9. Our Customer:
A global leader in agricultural
chemicals and seed technology,
and a pioneer in the application of
biotechnology in agriculture.
Our Success:
We have been providing public and dedicated warehousing space for this
customer since the early 1980s. We handle and store corn, soybeans, and
crop protection chemicals, and also provide packaging, relabeling, and
reverse logistics solutions.
When new warehousing capabilities are needed, our customer knows
Norbert Dentressangle is just a phone call away. Thanks to our large
nationwide footprint and extensive network of public warehouses, we
have been able to provide space and accept shipments within a week.
Over the course of our relationship, we have helped this industry leader
transition to a centralized distribution center model, eliminating the
need for interplant shifting and storage of extra products. Through a
pilot program, the Norbert Dentressangle team became the first third-
party provider to serve as the last point of contact with their customers.
Additionally, our teams handle returns, sorting, SKUing, repacking, and
reshipping pallets of mixed seed.
The Challenge:
As an industry leader, our customer
continuously seeks cost effective
solutions for the storage and
distribution of their products. As
their supply chain partner, Norbert
Dentressangle must act as a natural
extension of their company’s own
logistics department, demonstrating
our knowledge and understanding of
their business, products, customers,
and carriers, and be ready to plan and
execute new supply chain strategies
quickly and effectively.
