4 Low Code/ No Code Statistics That You Cannot Miss in 2021 Maruti Techlabs
Software development is slow & expensive as it is complex & requires hiring technical resources.
Furthermore, most large-scale IT projects fail as demonstrated by numerous studies.
Businesses are starting to take advantage of low-code platforms to develop & deploy apps by reducing the pressure on their IT teams by minimizing hand-coding & code to be maintained.
With a low-code development platform, businesses can automate time-consuming manual coding processes & speed up their app delivery.
However, not all #business problems are suitable for low code: simple, business-driven projects are a good starting point.
According to @OutSystems, accelerating #digitaltransformation is the top reason most IT leaders chose a low-code platform, with 69% focusing on finishing the work of digital transformation.

What is No-Code/Low-Code App Development and Why Should Your Business Care?kintone
No-code/low-code aPaaS (Platform as a service) solutions enable line of business managers to handle technology needs to automate workflows, develop shared document repositories, construct reporting dashboards and process data without ever having to write a line of code.
No-code refers to tools that allow software development without writing code by using visual elements like boxes and buttons. Gartner predicts that by 2024, over 65% of application development will be done through low-code/no-code tools, though most projects will be small to moderate in scale and non-critical. By 2024, large enterprises will be using an average of four different low-code tools for both IT development and citizen development. No-code is essentially programming at a higher level of abstraction through visual design instead of code syntax.

Typically the most frequent and demanding changes to the business environment do not directly affect the core applications. Rather, they have to do with the ways in which those applications need to interact with each other and with the outside world. The challenge of Business Process Integration (BPI) is to open up those applications so that the enormous value contained in them can remain relevant and effective in a connected world.
The document discusses the future of ERP systems. Increased web-based interfaces, object-oriented databases, and a stronger move to advanced scheduling and planning systems are expected. Other trends include portals, collaboration, content management, business process management, service-oriented architectures, and business intelligence. Recent surveys show IT decision makers prioritizing upgrades, collaboration, and knowledge management. The main challenge is justifying large investments in new systems and demonstrating real returns on investment.
This document discusses secure agile development and transforming a federal agency's delivery model. SaaS adoption has proliferated across nearly every industry vertical and business function to the point where it is now nearly ubiquitous throughout the economy. This has created multiple market opportunities for businesses utilizing an “API-first” strategy, whereby they offer new products or services via API that complement existing SaaS applications or they use API technology to break down data silos and connect what would otherwise be disparate data sets. A handful of first-movers have capitalized on a subset of these opportunities in both products & services (e.g., Twilio in voice & text, Stripe in payments) and data aggregation (e.g., MuleSoft for enterprises, Plaid for FinTech / financial institutions). We believe this dynamic is still in its early days and that there will be many future opportunities for growth investors with strong SaaS experience to partner with these businesses.
To capitalize on this trend, Catalyst is exploring businesses participating in the “API Economy”, which we define as companies doing any of the following:
1. Pursuing an “API-first” product or go-to-market strategy (e.g., Twilio, Stripe, Algolia, MapBox)
2. Utilizing APIs to connect data silos (e.g., MuleSoft, Plaid, Zapier, Segment, Redox, Trulioo)
3. Enabling the development and maintenance of APIs (e.g., Apigee, Kong, SmartBear)
At Catalyst, we employ a proactive, research-based approach to investing, targeting sectors experiencing outstanding growth. If you are an owner, operator, or investor of a growth stage company participating in the API Economy, we would like to hear from you. Please send inquiries and business plans to grady@catalyst.com.

Introduction of Cybersecurity with OSS at Code Europe 2024Hiroshi SHIBATA
I develop the Ruby programming language, RubyGems, and Bundler, which are package managers for Ruby. Today, I will introduce how to enhance the security of your application using open-source software (OSS) examples from Ruby and RubyGems.
The first topic is CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). I have published CVEs many times. But what exactly is a CVE? I'll provide a basic understanding of CVEs and explain how to detect and handle vulnerabilities in OSS.
Next, let's discuss package managers. Package managers play a critical role in the OSS ecosystem. I'll explain how to manage library dependencies in your application.
I'll share insights into how the Ruby and RubyGems core team works to keep our ecosystem safe. By the end of this talk, you'll have a better understanding of how to safeguard your code.
zkStudyClub - LatticeFold: A Lattice-based Folding Scheme and its Application...Alex Pruden
Folding is a recent technique for building efficient recursive SNARKs. Several elegant folding protocols have been proposed, such as Nova, Supernova, Hypernova, Protostar, and others. However, all of them rely on an additively homomorphic commitment scheme based on discrete log, and are therefore not post-quantum secure. In this work we present LatticeFold, the first lattice-based folding protocol based on the Module SIS problem. This folding protocol naturally leads to an efficient recursive lattice-based SNARK and an efficient PCD scheme. LatticeFold supports folding low-degree relations, such as R1CS, as well as high-degree relations, such as CCS. The key challenge is to construct a secure folding protocol that works with the Ajtai commitment scheme. The difficulty, is ensuring that extracted witnesses are low norm through many rounds of folding. We present a novel technique using the sumcheck protocol to ensure that extracted witnesses are always low norm no matter how many rounds of folding are used. Our evaluation of the final proof system suggests that it is as performant as Hypernova, while providing post-quantum security.

Digital Banking in the Cloud: How Citizens Bank Unlocked Their MainframePrecisely
Inconsistent user experience and siloed data, high costs, and changing customer expectations – Citizens Bank was experiencing these challenges while it was attempting to deliver a superior digital banking experience for its clients. Its core banking applications run on the mainframe and Citizens was using legacy utilities to get the critical mainframe data to feed customer-facing channels, like call centers, web, and mobile. Ultimately, this led to higher operating costs (MIPS), delayed response times, and longer time to market.
Ever-changing customer expectations demand more modern digital experiences, and the bank needed to find a solution that could provide real-time data to its customer channels with low latency and operating costs. Join this session to learn how Citizens is leveraging Precisely to replicate mainframe data to its customer channels and deliver on their “modern digital bank” experiences.

2. • Businesses need to save time to improve
efficiency
• One way to do this is automate business
processes
• An Enterprise Resource Plan could help
streamline your processes.
• ERPs come with modules for different
functions, including HR, Finance,
Operations, CRM, supply chain.
TIME IS MONEY
3. ARE ERPS COST-EFFECTIVE?
• Typically ERP software is designed for large
organisations and is therefore costly.
• Data shows that over 70% of businesses worldwide
are small and medium enterprises. To them,
spending $150,000-750,000 annually isn't practical
or sustainable.
• Additionally, traditional ERP software tend to be
rigid, with less flexibility than what small businesses
need.
4. • Go with a low-code solution - Simple, cost-effective
and easy to use, even for non-developers .
• Learning curve is quick with immediate
implementation.
• Make changes anytime, add new modules to the
existing application
• Many companies offer simplified platforms with a
monthly payment plan, which means you try it out
with no commitments.
