You are invited! If you feel like “the world has changed and the church has Alzheimer’s” ... If you
feel called to plant a new congregation, start a new kind of ministry or simply start a small group that
is designed to reach contemporary, unchurched people ... this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
In-depth teaching by two men who have both given a lifetime to innovation in the mission of the
Adventist movement. This week will be spiritual, practical, creative, contemporary and Bible-based.
Peter Roennfeldt has planted churches in Europe, Australia and developing nations, including some
of the most unique, exciting churches in the Adventist movement. He has trained hundreds of church
planters, many of them not church employees or clergy. He is currently the pastor of several new
congregations and an associate Ministerial Association director in the Victorian Conference. After
launching a movement of Adventist churches for the unchurched in the South Pacific Division of the
General Conference, he spent a decade in Europe, coordinating church planting across 39 nations,
including some of the most secular on the globe and some with Islamic cultures.
Monte Sahlin has helped churches and community groups start more than 100 community-based
ministries of compassion since he organized ACT in Los Angeles in 1967. He has planted churches in
Cambridge, Massachusetts; Annapolis, Maryland; and Hoboken, New Jersey. He has served as a
pastor, director of urban ministries, and assistant to the president of the North American Division of
the General Conference. He is currently director of research and special projects in the Ohio
Conference. He also teaches community organizing for the Tony Campolo Graduate School at
Eastern University.
Andrew and Mayda Clark are hosts for the event at their church plant and community service project
in Pittsburgh. You will be able to worship with their PULSE congregation on Sabbath and tour the
many projects they have completed in the Carnegie neighborhood—housing rehabilitation, building a
community park, small-business development, eradicating hunger in the community, help for teens
and young adults, community organizing, etc. This is one of the most innovative outreaches in
America today—the Pittsburgh Metro Initiative.

Requirements
1. Space is limited and seats will be reserved on the basis of a deposit of $50.
2. Every person who attends is asked to read or re-read the Book of Acts before arriving at the event.
3. It is strongly recommended that you come as teams or couples. We prefer to see teams of at leat
two to four people attend.
4. Bring information about your hopes and dreams or the project you may have already started, if you
have some goals in writing, etc.

The registration fee is $125 per person. This includes a daily noon-time meal, a notebook of materials
and all instruction and activities for seven days.

Arrangements have been made with three locations to offer a special price of $100 per night or less, if
you mention “Adventist Community Services” when you make your reservation. The hotels offer
suites that will easily sleep up to six individuals and provide breakfast as part of the package. You
