This syllabus outlines the units and topics to be covered in an Advanced Accounting course at Huntingtown High School. Unit I will review all steps of the accounting cycle. Unit II will cover maintaining and recording transactions for assets, liabilities, and equity, including cash, receivables, investments, inventory, plant assets, liabilities, and stockholder equity. Students will learn various accounting techniques, such as anticipating uncollectible accounts, calculating gains and losses on investments, using different inventory valuation methods, recording asset depreciation, and preparing fiscal year-end financial statements and reports. The grading policy and materials needed will be provided by each individual teacher. Tutoring will be available during flex lunch periods.
