AN OVERVIEW ON THE CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILTY INITIATIVES BY LARSEN &TOUB...VARUN KESAVAN
Our social initiatives help empower communities with focus on improving the quality of education among children from marginalized communities and helping them stay in school, enhancing skills of the marginalized youth and women, providing special education &skills for physically and intellectually challenged people, and addressing the critical issue of environment conservation. Our projects help promote sustainable community development, with a commitment to promote the cause of creating a more inclusive society.
Through our various initiatives, we ensure that our employees, who are an integral part of the 1 step initiative, grow as complete individuals, by bringing forth the leader in them who will drive change, rise above the situation and most importantly, develop a holistic perspective to ward-life.
Theme: Digital Era with Consumer Internet & Touching Cloud 9 with Cloud Computing
In the Digital era Internet business models are categorized as business-to-consumer, business-to-business, and more recently, consumer-to-consumer. Business-to-consumer and business-to-business models typically sell goods and services or provide information designed to help visitors make purchase decisions. Consumer-to-consumer models involve consumer-to-consumer information or product exchange. Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale, similar to a utility (like the electricity grid) over a network. At the foundation of cloud computing is the broader concept of converged infrastructure and services. This can work for allocating resources to users. The term "moving to cloud" also refers to an organization moving away from a traditional CAPEX model to the OPEX model.

Deep learning based facial expressions recognition system for assisting visua...journalBEEI
In general, a good interaction including communication can be achieved when verbal and non-verbal information such as body movements, gestures, facial expressions, can be processed in two directions between the speaker and listener. Especially the facial expression is one of the indicators of the inner state of the speaker and/or the listener during the communication. Therefore, recognizing the facial expressions is necessary and becomes the important ability in communication. Such ability will be a challenge for the visually impaired persons. This fact motivated us to develop a facial recognition system. Our system is based on deep learning algorithm. We implemented the proposed system on a wearable device which enables the visually impaired persons to recognize facial expressions during the communication. We have conducted several experiments involving the visually impaired persons to validate our proposed system and the promising results were achieved.
Abstract
This paper has presented our interest in wireless human graphical interfacial system along with proper tools for learning. Considering the present scenario in learning system, in our proposed project, we aim at developing a system mainly focusing on two main aspects: 1. a way in which e-slate would provide an effective learning tool for such rural and government aided schools at a primary teaching level and 2. Also prove helpful in cases where it is difficult for a teacher to teach a particular subject or make understanding easier along with giving the teacher a freedom of remotely teaching as well as communicating with a larger group of students in rural places where there is shortage of able teachers.
Keywords – e-slate, wireless RF communication- RF transmitter/receiver, ATMEGA controller, touchscreen, Smart algorithm recognition.

Data science for digital culture improvement in higher education using K-mean...IJECEIAES
This study aims to investigate the meaningful pattern that can be used to improve digital culture in higher education based on parameters of the technology acceptance model (TAM). The methodology used is the data mining technique with K-means algorithm and text analytics. The experiment using questionnaire data with 2887 respondents in Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung. The data analysis and clustering result show that the perceived usefulness and behavioral intention to use information systems are above the normal value, while the perceived ease of use and actual system use is quite low. Strengthened with text analytics, this research found that the EDA and K-means result in harmony with the hope or desire of academic society the information system implementation. This research also found how important the socialization and guidance of information systems, especially the new one information system, in order to improve digital culture in higher education.
Paper on sub-theme: “E-Learning” of " International Conference on Open Source...Djadja Sardjana
E-learning or electronic learning is now increasingly recognized as one way to overcome the problem of education, both in the developed countries and in developing countries. Many people use the term different with e-learning, but in principle e-learning is learning to use electronic services as a means of help. The main vehicle in the development of human resources is education and training. But when watching the situation geography, socio-economic and cultural diversity of Indonesia, it is clear that it was not adequate anymore when only relying on the ways of traditional solutions alone.

Game development software engineering: digital educational game promoting al...IJECEIAES
The purpose of this study is to create a digital educational game that promotes algorithmic thinking for elementary school students. However, the processes of game development differ from traditional software development which cannot guarantee its effectiveness in terms of human-machine interfaces. In this article, we propose a new game development software engineering (GDSE) as a model for game development. This new model aims to complement and mitigate the shortcomings of traditional software development. The principles of human-computer interaction are now incorporated in the new model. The GDSE includes design, development, usability inspection, game experience evaluation, educational value evaluation and release. It was used as a research method to develop a game that promotes algorithmic thinking for children. The results of this study are not only a digital educational game that promotes algorithmic thinking for children but also a new game development life cycle that guarantees the performance of digital games in terms of usability enhancement, game experience and educational value.
