Target User
Beth Watson
26 years old
Librarian
Beth is a 26 year old graduate of The University of Kansas. She graduated with a degree in elementary education
and currently works as an elementary librarian in Oklahoma City. She is engaged to her college boyfriend, Bill, and is
getting married in the spring . They both want to focus on their careers so but
Her current car is an ‘02 Honda Accord with just over 150,000 miles on it. She likes the general size and overall feel of
the Accord but wants a newer car with better gas mileage, and is even interested in looking at non-gas powered
cars. Beth spends a lot of time in her car so it is important for her to have a reliable and easy to use vehicle. She
drives about 35 min to work each day and visits her parents in Kansas City once every six weeks.
Because she spends so much time in her car she wants her new car to have an easy way to
iphone and play it over her cars speakers. She also wants to be able to use the GPS feature on her phone but
possibly display the information on a bigger screen for easier viewing.

10. Driving is like having a conversation with your car.
By improving information and accessibility of controls
we can help reduce distraction from things like
tra c, cell phones, and searching for information.
‐Soothes anxiety
‐Limits required input from the driver
‐Predicts behavior and needs
‐ Allows the user to plan ahead to avoid decision making while driving

‐ The "smartness" of the system could be adjusted to suit a user’s comfort level
