2. What is frozen
shoulder?
Frozen shoulder is also known as
adhesive capsulitis or capsulosis is
an acute inflammation which affect
the glenohumeral joint
It can arise spontaneously or after
a modest injury
Patients usually complain in
the pain night time and
movement range of shoulder
significantly reduced

6. History
A 50-year-old
patient
present to the
clinic with
complain of
Pain and stiffness
in the shoulder for
last 2 months
Unable to lift
his hand
more than 60
degree

7. Examination
Inspection
•Shape and counters
are compared on
both sides
•No deformity, no
swelling and no
wasting is noted
Palpation
•Muscle spasm and
trigger points were
palpated
Movement
•Active and passive
movement was
restricted from 60
degree above

8. Stages
Freezing ,frozen and thawing 2-9 months
Fibrotic contracture 4-12 months
Resolution May take years

9. Point
selection
Local points Gall bladder 21 which is located at the
highest point of the shoulder, midway
between GV.14 and Ll.15
Large intestine 15 which is located in the
anterior depression on the lateral border
of the acromion process.
Large intestine 14 is located on the lower
border of the deltoid muscle

10. Distal points
Distal point Stomach 38 one finger’s breadth
lateral to the anterior border of the
tibia.
Gall Bladder 34 is located in the
depression anterior and inferior to
the small head of the fibula.
