THERE IS SO MUCH
DATA AVAILABLE…

WHY DO I HAVE SO
     LITTLE
 INFORMATION!?
We need information,
         and we need it now!

Our businesses depend on it…

                        • Does it take forever to get a report?
                        • Do your data systems talk to each other and
                            share information?
                        • Is your IT department giving you the service
                            you need?
                        • Are you getting the kinds of answers you are
                            looking for from your reports/dashboards?
Define the right questions for the answers you need. This is not as easy as it
sounds. Information can only return the kind of answers you design. This is a top
down concept: it has to include the questions from all levels of the organization.

Build data structure and integration to match. When the questions, i.e. the
requirements, are ready, it is important to build databases and reporting appliances
to accommodate them. Integrating all the systems to feed information in a
meaningful way is equally important. Structuring must be flexible because you will
need to change it once you get a feel for the information you want; then you will
want more.

Equals actionable information. The presentation of data needs to provide actionable
information to management. So many reports are not actionable; these don’t help
your business. This should be part of the design.

Results equal optimum business management and growth. Actionable information.
Be open to new types of data as they become available. Know that the more you
know and learn, the more you will want more and different information. You will
grow your system as you grow your business; they are partners in success.
It IS possible to get what you need. ACTIONABLE is the key word.
Let’s talk.

The information from social media, mobile devices, and the internet are adding
enormous richness to industry data. The data is a little different and the world is in the
early stages of using it, but there is potential to add a lot of depth to your analytics. We
can talk about this too.
