India Home Health Care provides an extensive care plan for the elderly. Taking care of elderly parents or grandparents is not an easy task, especially when it comes to health. Ensuring that all their needs are taken care of in terms of their health and well-being can be quite tricky and not at all times can this be done without adequate help or support.
We, at India Home Health Care are aware of how difficult can this role-reversal process be and we step in to take care of those who once cared for you dearly. One of the important steps in caregiving for elderly involves evaluating the client’s condition and needs and working with their doctor to develop a care plan that is effective and best for our client’s health. Our newly designed healthcare package for the elderly involves continuous support to them with the help of regular assessments that are performed by our senior registered nurses at home. These assessments are efficiently documented and are made available on the patient portal to keep our clients updated with the latest health updates/developments.
The goal is to lend a helping hand to the hard working sons and daughters out there who have limited time to take care of their parents’ health. Most of the children nowadays cope with the guilt of not being able to do justice in taking care of their parents. Our services are designed with the main aim of being able to help these children and ensure that their parents’ health is being taken care of effectively.
Kym’s expertise and thirst for maximizing love and respect for older adults while striving to improve their daily living has been all-consuming and her mission for over 10 years. This passion has been validated daily by seeing all those beautiful aging adults living happy, healthy lives to their fullest in their chosen environment.
Her knowledge and creativity has made her one of the most respected marketing professionals in the area of Senior Care in Los Angeles. With sustained occupancy of at least 94% between two established assisted living communities and a flagship Medicare only skilled nursing facility, Kym has proven herself a top producer. Cultivating new partnerships and realigning inactive or low-producing community resources has increased healthcare referrals by 58% excluding placement agencies.
When she’s not busy with her career, she enjoys her community involvement as a board member for the Greater Los Angeles Parkinson’s Disease Association, where she helped raise $326K. She averaged 45% growth annually in walkathon fund-raising as event chair since 2008. At home, you can find Kym volunteering at the local senior center or submerging herself in her church callings.
Kym has spent the last 6 years commuting in to the Beverly Hills and Hancock Park areas daily from her home in Simi Valley where she lives with her 20-year-old daughter. The 101 Freeway has won the ongoing challenge; she now spends most of her time assisting the elderly in the San Fernando Valley and Ventura County. Football, cooking and entertaining remain some of Kym’s favorite pastimes as well as jaunts to the beach in her convertible.
Consistent with her commitment to preserve the independence of older adults for as long as possible, she has helped hundreds of seniors and their families find a home where they could live out their lives with dignity and respect while building key healthcare partnerships throughout Los Angeles.

Flu Vaccine Alert in Bangalore Karnatakaaddon Scans
As flu season approaches, health officials in Bangalore, Karnataka, are urging residents to get their flu vaccinations. The seasonal flu, while common, can lead to severe health complications, particularly for vulnerable populations such as young children, the elderly, and those with underlying health conditions.
Dr. Vidisha Kumari, a leading epidemiologist in Bangalore, emphasizes the importance of getting vaccinated. "The flu vaccine is our best defense against the influenza virus. It not only protects individuals but also helps prevent the spread of the virus in our communities," he says.
This year, the flu season is expected to coincide with a potential increase in other respiratory illnesses. The Karnataka Health Department has launched an awareness campaign highlighting the significance of flu vaccinations. They have set up multiple vaccination centers across Bangalore, making it convenient for residents to receive their shots.
To encourage widespread vaccination, the government is also collaborating with local schools, workplaces, and community centers to facilitate vaccination drives. Special attention is being given to ensuring that the vaccine is accessible to all, including marginalized communities who may have limited access to healthcare.
Residents are reminded that the flu vaccine is safe and effective. Common side effects are mild and may include soreness at the injection site, mild fever, or muscle aches. These side effects are generally short-lived and far less severe than the flu itself.
Healthcare providers are also stressing the importance of continuing COVID-19 precautions. Wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, and maintaining social distancing are still crucial, especially in crowded places.
Protect yourself and your loved ones by getting vaccinated. Together, we can help keep Bangalore healthy and safe this flu season. For more information on vaccination centers and schedules, residents can visit the Karnataka Health Department’s official website or follow their social media pages.
Stay informed, stay safe, and get your flu shot today!

New Directions in Targeted Therapeutic Approaches for Older Adults With Mantl...i3 Health
i3 Health is pleased to make the speaker slides from this activity available for use as a non-accredited self-study or teaching resource.
This slide deck presented by Dr. Kami Maddocks, Professor-Clinical in the Division of Hematology and
Associate Division Director for Ambulatory Operations
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, will provide insight into new directions in targeted therapeutic approaches for older adults with mantle cell lymphoma.
STATEMENT OF NEED
Mantle cell lymphoma (MCL) is a rare, aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) accounting for 5% to 7% of all lymphomas. Its prognosis ranges from indolent disease that does not require treatment for years to very aggressive disease, which is associated with poor survival (Silkenstedt et al, 2021). Typically, MCL is diagnosed at advanced stage and in older patients who cannot tolerate intensive therapy (NCCN, 2022). Although recent advances have slightly increased remission rates, recurrence and relapse remain very common, leading to a median overall survival between 3 and 6 years (LLS, 2021). Though there are several effective options, progress is still needed towards establishing an accepted frontline approach for MCL (Castellino et al, 2022). Treatment selection and management of MCL are complicated by the heterogeneity of prognosis, advanced age and comorbidities of patients, and lack of an established standard approach for treatment, making it vital that clinicians be familiar with the latest research and advances in this area. In this activity chaired by Michael Wang, MD, Professor in the Department of Lymphoma & Myeloma at MD Anderson Cancer Center, expert faculty will discuss prognostic factors informing treatment, the promising results of recent trials in new therapeutic approaches, and the implications of treatment resistance in therapeutic selection for MCL.
Target Audience
Hematology/oncology fellows, attending faculty, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL).
Learning Objectives
1.) Identify clinical and biological prognostic factors that can guide treatment decision making for older adults with MCL
2.) Evaluate emerging data on targeted therapeutic approaches for treatment-naive and relapsed/refractory MCL and their applicability to older adults
3.) Assess mechanisms of resistance to targeted therapies for MCL and their implications for treatment selection

Decline in physical appearance
Do you notice your parent is not performing activities of daily living such as
bathing, grooming, including brushing their teeth, dressing, and eating?
Failure to perform these daily tasks may be a sign of depression, dementia,
or even Alzheimer’s.
●
A neglected home
Is the house a mess? Is there a stack of dirty dishes in the sink? Are lights
not working? Stacks of mail everywhere? Major changes to the way your
parents maintain their home may signal a decline in their mental or physical
health.
Signs your aging parent
may need assistance

●
Memory loss
There are different levels of memory loss. I may forget where I placed my keys
and have to look around the entire house in order to find them. An elderly person
may have the same problem. Memory loss is a natural part of aging, but there is
a difference between modest memory loss and more concerning memory loss.
Examples of more severe memory loss are forgetting common words when
speaking, getting lost in a familiar neighborhood, forgetting recently learned
information, forgetting important dates or events, asking for the same information
over and over, or increasingly needing to rely on memory aids and family
members for things they used to handle on their own. Any of these more severe
memory loss examples may signal the onset of dementia. If you are concerned
about memory loss of your aging parent, you should schedule an appointment
with their doctor.

Unexplained weight loss
If you notice your aging parent losing weight unexpectedly, it could be a sign
of more serious issues. Perhaps they are having trouble preparing meals
due to difficulty finding the energy to cook, grasping the tools necessary to
cook, or reading labels or directions on food products. This could result in
malnutrition. People have told me to do the “hug test.” Give your parent a
hug and if you notice there’s a lot less of them than there used to be, talk to
them about it. It may be time to get assistance for them.

Emotional issues
Is your parent in good spirits? Have you noticed a change in their attitude
lately? Are they involved in social clubs and activities or has their
involvement in those activities drastically declined? Do they hang out with
friends or have they shut off contact with people they used to converse with?
If you notice a change in your parent emotionally, it may be time to get them
some help at home.
