Puck places the head of an ass onto Bottom during the rehearsal of a play by craftsmen. This causes the others to flee in fright. Puck then leads the donkey-headed Bottom to the sleeping Titania, upon whom Oberon has ordered Puck to use magic love juice. Titania then falls in love with Bottom due to the spell. Meanwhile, Hermia is confused because Lysander and Demetrius are fighting over Helena and ignoring Hermia. Oberon sees the conflict between the men and orders Puck to use the love juice on Lysander to solve it.
