The American Cancer Society (ACS) was founded in 1913 and is the largest nonprofit health organization and largest non-government funder of cancer research in the US. In Tennessee, ACS currently funds 17 research grants totaling $435 million and provides many services to cancer patients including the Hope Lodge in Nashville, rides to treatment through Road to Recovery, and answering over 12,000 calls through the Cancer Information and Call Center. ACS also offers programs like Look Good Feel Better, Reach to Recovery, and Relay for Life to support those impacted by cancer.
